My feed started filling up with Albion stuff recently. Clicked the link and saw that HCSA / AFU South had rebranded to Albion. Should be interesting to watch and see if it changes the direction of the club.

I saw this too and was surprised. Not sure if being part of a mega club like Albion who has no presence in this region is helpful to the club.

Looks like they are now in the ambiguous DPL Open league as well

If they’ve got no presence in GA, the franchise fees might be less than what AFU charges. That, or they just wanted to go in a completely opposite direction.

My daughter is part of AFU… and most parents at AFU north don’t even know anything about south. Doesn’t appear they had a lot of success either on the girls side. They were always looking for guest players in a few targeted HS age groups. My guess is they were not a priority to the AFU brand. JMO… as a parent

Albion Atlanta has had a post on their insta and FB all week teasing a merger and or expansion. It says the announcement will come on the 26th…. Well, I’m still waiting lol. The grayed out club name looks like Albion Rockdale. Why in the world they’d expand into Rockdale to compete with GSA at RYSA is beyond me… but sometimes things don’t always make sense at first. Will be interesting to see!
