How can clubs justify scheduling ID camps at the same time is in the best interest of the players?

Is it true that opposing clubs will reach out to you if interested after May 1st =U13 and up??? You can’t recruit until May 1st. They can start to reach out then legally. Ppl sometimes do it earlier illegally. If you are a stud ppl will come to you. If you aren’t they won’t but that doesn’t mean you can’t make that team. You WILL need to go to training sessions before tryouts though, if you are trying to change teams.

Once you reach u15, the players know who the top players are. If your kid wants to go beyond club, they need to be at one of the Big 5.

UFA, SSA, CF, AFU, NTH, GSA. Wait that is six lol. At one point it was based on number of rec players. Not sure the Big 5 in 2024 is.

How can clubs justify scheduling ID camps at the same time is in the best interest of the players? They justify it because they think it is about the clubs and not the players. The more players they can get into their clubs, the more money the directors can make each year.

The more players they can get into their clubs, the more money the directors can make each year. They force players to pick their priority club. The coaches / admin know who goes to what ID's . . . think they trade name lists etc.

I think of the 2024 “Big 5 clubs” as those that participate in ECNL. My limited experience with SSA is that it is a massive club but lacks the ECNL prestige. I’d put it with the other large MLS-Next clubs like Inter, AFC Lightning, etc.

I won’t argue with SoccerGurl.
Only comment is that CF, GSA, NTH (TH on the girls side), UFA, and AFU are all likely better destinations than SSA if your kid has dreams of playing D1 soccer.

My opinion only, but I think the best 5 youth soccer programs in the Atlanta area are: Atlanta United, NTH-NASA, Concorde Fire, UFA and GSA.
