Good for Santos boys. I wonder if it will be their top team playing only in NPL or doubling up with SCCL? The tough part of NPL is the teams change so much from year to year as teams drop out for better options so it is a mess to know what you have for the next season

Anyone know why Ambush Girls won’t be continuing in NPL next year? One and done? They following Santos and the DPL route like Impact did.

I heard the coaches didn’t like it but not sure if that’s true. Haven’t heard anything about DPL but I think they applied. With more clubs joining SCCL I guess it’s possible their top girls teams are going back there.

That will be the top team out of there now for all age groups Girls/Boys. I think this is an attempt to steal some players back that have moved to MOBA or AFC the last few years. Lets be honest MOBA is playing in a defunct GA Soccer that has no one in it now. I had heard they lost their USL team? Is that true? If MOBA doesn't figure something out they might start losing folks back to Coweta especially with the new park (that will drain a ton better than Whitlock) being built soon.

Good to see SSA giving another branch a bit of a bone, maybe they learned their lesson after losing most of Buckhead in one night.

Good to see SSA giving another branch a bit of a bone, maybe they learned their lesson after losing most of Buckhead in one night. What happened? I haven't heard this one It’s been a year and I’m sure there are dozens of different interpretations but from what I was told, SSA brought in the Buckhead branch a few years ago but never gave them much respect. It was a huge cash cow and maybe the most profitable branch. Fields were bad and practices routinely were canceled if Galloway had rain that week or a soccer game or track meet. Last year a developer was looking to buy the property at Galloway and SSA allegedly turned down the chance to buy the field after already losing Wieuca to a different developer. So, SSA couldn’t guarantee a field in Buckhead long term and allegedly didn’t renew any of the coaches contracts. Central coaches were going to come down when they could for practices. Word got out, Simon had an emergency call with all the parents that didn’t go well at all and took things from bad to mostly NASA after that. ETA they lost hundreds of kids and if you look at their website Buckhead is almost nonexistent now.

Good to see SSA giving another branch a bit of a bone, maybe they learned their lesson after losing most of Buckhead in one night. Getting something like this added was the next logical step for the rebuild of that location. The academy program on the boys side at least is flourishing, and keeping most of those kids there through their select ages I think it is their goal along with trying to further rebuild the girls side which is still lagging a bit. How much this ultimately helps still is unknown. You still have to have good coaches and training spaces that doesn't cancel when it just spits a little from the sky. It would be nice for less politics as well, but I know that is pie in the sky talk!

Adding NPL to Coweta location is long overdue. MOBA is a no go, leaving AFC as the only alternative for higher level play. Just wish they had done this sooner for my player.

Their turf fields have tears in them. All the keepers 08 that played for McIntosh HS (state champs) have moved to either SSA NPL or NAL, the 07keeper has moved to AFC NAL. in the upcoming years, McIntosh players won't be coming from AFC as they have two primary Brazilian coaches have focused on the kids on the fayette/clayton/henry county line so Peachtree city and Coweta are new hotbeds for SSA along with the upgrades in turf fields in coweta county, as well as ,Men's national team moving to Trilith area sweetening the pot. Figuring there will be more tournaments on the southside in the upcoming future, perhaps even a HS tournament as the like of what is thrown every year in Birmingham AL with over 100 teams participating. Also looks like SSA has decided to become part of Florida EDP league

They lost a great coach too (Jim Robbins-won a National Championship with Tormenta after he left MOBA). I’m not sure why the powers that be wanted to stay in Georgia Soccer. And yes, the fields need a lot of maintenance. I’m not sure what they are going to do…or what they can do at this point. We left last year for personal reasons , and I have nothing bad to say about the coaches. I wish them well.

DC is playing for one of the newly added teams. Club keeps saying the schedule will be shared soon.
When is the NPL South Atlantic schedule typically published?

Don't know, but we have all our game dates and opponents, whether home or away, in TeamSnap now, so at least our coach was told. Just don't have times and exact fields yet. Maybe your coach or team manager has the schedule already?

To UFA folks, where do these teams generally rank in your pecking order? Edit - boys side specifically UFA Metro SAPL here, first year with them. Seems to be between ECRL and SCCL. This location it's the highest level and there is a second team, which plays SCCL. My other son plays for a different club and is ECRL. It's still a bit early to tell since practice and the one friendly played we haven't fielded a full team, but to my eyes the overall level of players looks SCCL to me.

To UFA folks, where do these teams generally rank in your pecking order? Edit - boys side specifically For the boys these are all non-Forsyth locations with the exception of the U19 boys. For non Forsyth locations it will vary from year to year. The Forsyth North u19 team from my understanding has a lot of the former Sudamerica 07 boys.

To UFA folks, where do these teams generally rank in your pecking order? Edit - boys side specifically UFA Metro U17 dad here In general the top NPL teams are on par with the upper half with ECRL. My son has played both so I have experience with both leagues. NPL bottom tier teams are definitely below the bottom of ECRL Only a couple of mid tier NPL teams could hang with the bottom half
