Round of 16 tonight in 7A featuring some huge matchups: - Denmark vs Walton (home) - Milton vs Buford (home) - Mountain View vs W Forsyth (home) - Harrison vs Brookwood (home) - Mill Creek vs N Gwinnett (home) - Camden County vs Hillgrove (home) - Lowndes vs Campbell (home) Some teams havent had a tough game since before region started. How much will home field advantage factor in the games?
The Harrison(3) vs Brookwood(6) game appears to be best one according to Scorboard rankings. Harrison has the higher ranking but will be traveling cross town to play at Brookwood. There will be lots of future college players on the field for both teams.
What is your prediction any of the games above?

Love 7A girls soccer. Some of the most quality games you will be able to see. This is how I see things shaking out:
- Denmark vs Walton (home) - I believe Walton will come out with this one. Yes, Walton isn't the same team as last year but they look more cohesive and a better all-around team. Denmark seems to not have some of their seniors come back for their final season, which will hurt them. They do, however, have Maddie Stoddard who will be going to Auburn in the Fall to play. This will be the first time Walton will host Denmark and this seems like a perfect revenge game after the state championship. The two times they met before: 1) Walton won 2-1 in OT in the Elite 8 back in 2022 and 2) Denmark won in PKs in the 2023 State Championship match.
After Walton settled down halfway into the 1st half, they looked like the better team and had A LOT of opportunities, especially in the 2nd half. They just could not put anything away and the post were their worst enemy.
- Milton vs Buford (home) - Buford should walk away with this game. They have been quality all season and Milton is a shell of their former selves. Milton has some weapons but they do not go very deep into their bench. Milton's keeper is a brick wall but that back line is not going to be able to do much.
- Mountain View vs W Forsyth (home) - I would think West Forsyth will win but to be honest, I don't know much about Mountain View. It's funny looking at a lot of the Gwinnett County schools schedules because it seems like the good programs don't ever challenge themselves in the area. So they kind of skate by all season.
- Harrison vs Brookwood (home) - Harrison should win but I would love to see an upset from Brookwood. Harrison has been consistent all season, minus their game against Hillgrove. They were missing because of a GA tournament that weekend.
- Mill Creek vs N Gwinnett (home) - I believe Mill Creek should come away with this.
- Camden County vs Hillgrove (home) - Hillgrove should win this one. But it would be nice to see a South Georgia team win this matchup.
- Lowndes vs Campbell (home) - Campbell will come away with this. They have a few good players, one most notably will be going to Arizona to play. They are definitely weak in areas and Walton/Denmark will punish them in the next round.

I am surprised by some of the scores tonight. Congrats to everyone moving on. Region 3 is looking surprisingly strong with 3 teams making elite 8.

Elite Eight is set! Here's my thoughts on what's to come:
Campbell vs. Walton - Walton should come away with this one. Overall better talent on that side. Campbell's AM is their best player and scores a lot of goals but it would take a team effort to support her. I believe this will be very one-sided.
Hillgrove vs. Buford - Buford should win but that 1-0 win against Milton kind of makes me question them as to what's going on recently. Hillgrove has had some good wins against teams that are still in the playoffs: Harrison (1 win and 1 loss) and North Paulding (in both matchups). Although they've had some easy games recently, Hillgrove has had some time to get some target practice and tweak things. It's a possibility they could upset Buford.
North Gwinnett vs. Harrison - I got my money on Harrison. Not knowing much about North Gwinnett, but it looks like they grinded out of the both rounds of the playoff. It could be something that can work in their favor though. Harrison's only loss was to Hillgrove and that was because of a GA tournament. I would think that a North Gwinnett win will be a huge upset if they win.
West Forsyth vs. North Paulding - Looks like West Forsyth is coming back into form a couple of years after the two sisters have now moved on to play professionally. Their only loss was in the preseason to Roswell and that looked like it was a really deadlock matchup. They look like the better team by their schedule. North Paulding has loss to both Hillgrove (both matchups), Harrison (both matchups), and Buford. West Forsyth played Hillgrove and won 1-0. I feel like West Forsyth should have no problem in this game.
Final Four Prediction: - Walton vs. Buford - Harrison vs. West Forsyth
