I did these with locations. Correct me if I'm wrong:
Albion FC Atlanta - Hampton GA (south) All-In FC - Suwanee (ATL metro) Auburn Soccer Club (AL) - Auburn obv Georgia Storm - Carrolton GA (west) GSA-East - Conyers GA (east) KWG (Kids With Goals) - College Park (ATL metro) Lanier Soccer Academy-Norcross (ATL metro) Legion FC - Warner Robins (south) MAYS/DDYS - Decatur (ATL metro) North Georgia Soccer Academy - Dalton GA (north) Pike Youth Soccer - Pike Co (south)
Not thrilled about how far some of these are from Atlanta. Hopefully they won't all be in our division! Any clue on which of these will likely be in SCCL-C, P1, P2, etc?

I edited Albion to say Hampton instead of Columbus. According to their website, they're at North Mt Carmel Park

I just have to laugh at how "GA Storm" was the next big thing. It was going to destroy SSA, and my how it has fallen severely over the year! Not that I was rooting for that, but I thought the whole club was formed due to egos and not the best interest of the kids in mind.

NPL NAL MLS and ENCL are all weekend trips some requiring flights but competition makes it worth it

Wow-i guess GA Soccer is officially dead. Maybe MOBA can just play its own teams. That is pretty much the only ones left in there!

I see that Ga Storm and All-In have a few teams that are in the top 3 of the GPL standings. Anyone know how the GPL compares to SCCL P1 or SCCL-C? Assuming those teams could be placed in the higher SCCL divisions. I know Albion (old AFU South) has had some decent teams over the last few years. Anticipate those teams will be competitive. Don’t know much about most of the other clubs.

I think it is hard to compare GPL to SCCL; there is such a gap top to bottom of GPL. Does this also mean that the teams above are pulling out of EA?

Albion girls are in DPL open so I suspect that is where their top teams will play, if there are enough DPL Open teams to be their own league (which I have been told there will be).

My guess is the boys top team would stay in EA and the 2nd team goes to SCCL. Hard to say because I don’t know much about the EA league quality. I’d anticipate Albion girls would have the top team in DPL Open and the 2nd team in SCCL. Maybe folks from Storm, Albion, or All-In have more info.

Don’t forget Athens United! 🤣 This is true…probably Savannah too. Stinks when your kid's team is geographically challenged to play good competition. All of these teams jumping out of Georgia Soccer and even NL Piedmont is discouraging.

I collectively call them the Evil Soccer Oligarchy… Edit: Of course, we probably wouldn’t be having this conversation if GA Soccer could have gotten out of its own way…

Would love to see GSA-Savannah vs SSA Dalton in a few years. 😂

I don't like the Big 5+1 structure or the GA Soccer structure, but ultimately SCCL ended up being better organized than GA Soccer ultimately.

I can see some growing pains coming as they continue to consolidate…

What’s funny about all of this is that CCL, which SCCL is modeled after finally collapsed this past year in Virginia with most all of the clubs now returning to local leagues that are organized under USYS.

I have heard that SCCL is owned by the big 5/6 is there any truth to that?

I have heard that SCCL is owned by the big 5/6 is there any truth to that? I don't know if owned is the right word but definitely the board is all big 5/6. So nothing happens in SCCL without the Big 5/6's ok. I would assume there is some LLC incorporated for SCCL that probably has some shared ownership among the clubs or at least the board is set up to control the LLC that way.

They tried their hardest to make it work by bringing all their teams down to play in "festivals" etc... in Savannah against their teams but ultimately it just didn't work out. If I had to guess it was a mutual decision as both probably weren't getting enough out of the agreement to continue with it. I thought they partnered with Florida Elite SA as well back in 2020 but I guess that didn't work out either. With how big the Pooler area is growing, I think Savannah United can grow to be a decent small club if they get the right folks down there. Probably better for them to be small club than a very far away branch of a Big 5/6. I think Columbus is seeing the issues with being a far off club of a Big 5/6.

Yes that’s what it was meant to be at first I think, but now looks to be a standalone league with 8 clubs.

massive take over again by us club soccer.
how does georgia soccer state associations still exist, they must have lost so much money over the past 5-8 years.
i never understood why for state associations we had to get permission to travel out of state, yet US club doesn't require it etc.
