JUST WOW! When is something going to change? Start with the coach and goalie IMO.

Sorry for the long rant...
So the facts are, our current record of 3 wins 5 losses and 3 ties is abysmal. We are winless in the last 6 games and have 3 straight home losses. The Benz used to be a fortress and opponents feared coming to play us at home. The team looked deflated after the first equalizer. With all the firepower on hand, we could only muster one goal on a PK. The second was actually an own goal. Our defense has more holes than swiss cheese. I have resisted calling for a change at the helm, but I think we have enough evidence to agree that Pineda is just not it. The simple fact is this: a coach who doesn't recognize how to make in-game adjustments should not be coaching a first-division team. DC was overwhelming us on their right our left. Changes were not made until the second half. However, I don't absolve the players either. After the equalizer to make it 1-1, they looked shell-shocked and unsure of what to do next. It was almost like they'd been promised DC would not score. We all knew that DC was an aerial threat, yet a highlight reel? I know it's recruiting season for college, but I swear, it was as if the AU defense chose to help Benteke create a highlight reel. Sadly, I think it's time to recognize that we are no longer a part of the elite in the MLS. It's time to clean house. Get rid of the coach. Get rid of Guzz. Find some real centerbacks to lead and fortify the defense. The scouting group has to find a real general, like a Nagbe, to hold, own, and control that midfield. Finally, the only thing constant in all our woes is Boca. For the luv of all things good in for ATLUTD. Get rid of him... Rant Over
Suggested New Chant: Hey Hey, Ho Ho, I think Boca-Boca needs to GO!

Agree with all this. I would just add that coach Pineda can’t even make a good game plan before the game (let alone in game adjustments). Very vanilla tactical strategies and it clearly shows they never practice much different tactics. Oh, by the wait, our shooting is quite poor (including shot creation) and despite what some say about (Lennon) crosses, we don’t seem to know how to cross the ball to a player (moving) in the box. Poor coaching overall.

Uncle Arthur does not terminate incompetent upper management, he promotes them. See rich mckay.
Sad to believe that out last trophy was with Frank De Boer.

That was a thoroughly disappointing display - so many things that just don't make sense. Why is our 6'1" striker completely unable to be an outlet and provide holdup play - and why is he seemingly trying to challenge Barco for the all-time ATL UTD flopping record? Why was our 10 completely unable to pull the trigger and shoot, why can't he take fewer than 10 touches, and why throughout second half extra time was he floating on the opposite side of the field out of the play? Why didn't we just place an orange traffic cone or a KwikGoal rebounder on the left wing instead of Mosquera or Silva? Why did we seemingly choose to play exclusively on the wings in the second half, trying then to dump balls into a box that was crowded by DC players who were all nearly a head taller than everyone on our team? Where is our midfield when we're in our defensive end - and where are our forwards? Why does our manager let 4-5 of his players completely abdicate all defensive responsibility? So many head scratchers - and so many boos at the end of that game. There were supporters screaming at Pineda as he walked through the tunnel into the dressing room after the game.

The question becomes-who do you replace him with? I’ve heard Klopp is available, but I doubt he’d take the job…

MLS is a Ponzi scheme. The franchises are built for parity using finance gimmicks that won’t let a billionaire pay the defenders. The result is a JV league.
Anyone else recall that Boca had zero executive experience?

Anyone else recall that Boca had zero executive experience? AU is still, with this incompetence, in the playoff hunt. Regular season has no meaning. They think allowing multiple teams in the playoffs will lead to increased TV ad revenue. But many soccer fans have fooled MLS (by ignoring their TV coverage altogether). I loved the game my whole life and consume multiple games per week. MLS has lost my interest.

How has Wiley been playing? All I know is similar to Bello, if I was the opposition and I saw him playing left back, I'd be like a kid in a candy store, and attack down that side all day with extra bodies. the way him and bello get up the field and defense was almost always their last priority - tracking back wasn't required.
All this stems from the font office -the magic is no more. Some very surprising personnel moves and lack there of. Tata was clearly the brains of the operation.
and again to me, putting the league behind a pay wall on a app that is one of the worst streaming platforms (in my opinion) is there demise. They play all the games at the same time, but most importantly, i have zero interest in watching 2 random MLS teams play - just doesn't move the meter. and I've said it before, the younger generation, besides the kids at mls academies, none of the young kids watch either.
They need a friday night fixture each week, and maybe Tuesday nights.
Futsal is dead on -- it starts between the pipes and at center back, but at the end of the day this team is out of sync and has zero continuity. I've lost faith to be honest, some of the homegrown signings are odd and better players have moved on to colleges without a look.
Tear it all down and start over -
easy fix, move the team back to bobby dodd!!

He did a good job as the interim gaffer...

Tear it all down and start over - easy fix, move the team back to bobby dodd!! I think the Apple TV platform is probably fine if the product is worth watching. The MLS marketing team’s story that these teams are among the most valuable clubs in the world is the hilarious part. But that’s expected when it’s a bunch of billionaires who are in it as a hedge against their NFL profits.. they probably think the league is performing great - it’s simply bonus value when they coerce taxpayers into paying for their real estate. Without a ground up rebuild that understands the foundation of an open pyramid is the key, we’re doomed into mediocrity no matter how many young kids play the game. Just imagine if the youth clubs had a purpose (beyond separating willing suckers from their money) and we had a setup like Germany where the supporters share ownership. You might even have some authentic support that wouldn’t abandon a team after being relegated.
