You have to look at all of the related entities because a club's CEO might only be paid $99k directly by the club, but he might still pull in hundreds of thousands of dollars on the side through related entities. And his wife might also work at the club and affiliated projects.

Yeah, I wanted to make the original post without commentary but there are some on the surface payouts that are eye opening and then some of the buried numbers that are harder to find. The independent contractor section is a good start for some though.

My biggest gripe is not that these guys make what they do (good for them)…it’s that these clubs are labeled 501c3. That made sense with the local soccer clubs with small membership and unpaid directors. I feel the same way about mega churches. However, if they were taxed, the members (your) fees would be higher…

Wow. The compensation for the UFA guys sure is high and appears to have more than doubled in the last two years.

I have an accountant friend who works in the non-profit space and she once looked these up and I was sick for the next few weeks. While I appreciate you taking the time and effort to share this, I will not go down this rabbit hole because this will only anger me further about the foolishness surrounding youth soccer. I was recently at a high school banquet speaking with a parent who's kids are at two different clubs on two different age group teams. Each hotel is approximately $300+/nite for at least 5 days, 10 days, if they succeed in moving on to the next round. That is almost $3,000 without flights, car rental, swag, activities and food & drinks. She is secretly hoping they don't make it past the first round of games...

You can’t fault these directors for getting paid what they do but you can fault the idiots that continue paying into their organizations that allow them to get paid what they do.
