Those who want to tryout for multiple clubs—what is your strategy in doing so? With tryouts being the same days and they say to attend all 3 days. I was told you always want to go to your home club the first day but what about days 2 and 3?

I have always been told go to your first choice night one is a good general rule. There are always reasons why you may do something different but that is what I have heard.

I was told you always want to go to your home club the first day but what about days 2 and 3? Actually you should go to your first choice on the first day. So if you’re looking to leave and trying to get a spot at a new club but still keeping your current club as a backup plan, then go to the new club on the first night for sure. Try to get some feedback from the coaches to get a gauge on what things look like for your kid. If the coaches sound enthusiastic about your kid and encourage you to bring them back then I would go again on night 2. If no offer has been made, go to your old club on night 3 to keep your “toe dipped”, so to speak. Let’s them know you’re still interested in coming back. There’s always a risk that you could lose your spot at your old club but if your kid is highly regarded at your current club then you should be fine. You just have to hope the new club makes a quick decision, otherwise you may have to accept a spot at the old club.

If you’re chasing Ws then you probably don’t really understand the sport and should go wherever you think you’re gonna win. If you’re looking for development then you should probably go to where you’re going to get the most playing time. Never run from playing time especially on the higher level teams.

I wouldn't say to never run from playing time. Even if your player is a starter, if they aren't in a good environment, I would get out. Otherwise I do agree, for development you should go where there will be plenty of playing time.
