1,803 attended Decatur FC’s inaugural WPSL game. Finally treating the WPSL like a semi-pro league and not college summer scrimmages. 5-0 win over Atlanta Fire. Great atmosphere with a bunch of talent on display!

Wife and I walked down there since it’s in our neighborhood. Couldn’t convince our boys to come. It was nice to see a good turnout. They looked great. AFU, not so much. It was a mix of soccer and non-soccer folks. It’s worth checking out for $10 a ticket . High school is right at the edge of Decatur Square so there is a lot to see and do around to make a night of it.

Finally treating the WPSL like a semi-pro league and not college summer scrimmages. 5-0 win over Atlanta Fire. Great atmosphere with a bunch of talent on display! It sounds like Decatur FC had a fantastic inaugural game in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL), drawing a solid crowd of 1,803 fans. Treating the WPSL as a semi-professional league, rather than just a series of college summer scrimmages, is a significant step forward for the organization and the league as a whole. A 5-0 victory over Atlanta Fire is an impressive result, showcasing the team's skill and preparation. The great atmosphere and talented players on display highlight the potential for exciting soccer in the community. This strong debut could help generate interest and support for future matches, as well as elevate the profile of women’s soccer in the area.
