Does anyone know when clubs will start to do supplemental try outs for kids that were out of town or do you have email the director and ask them?

I personally believe that tryouts should be held in August instead of during playoffs, finals, graduation, holidays, and other busy times. This would reduce conflicts and allow players to focus better on their performance during tryouts.
To ensure your child is considered, you may need to contact the head coach at specific clubs for your child's age group. These coaches typically have a better understanding of their team’s needs and the positions that need to be filled for their team and those below their team (ECRL, E64, SCCl, etc.). Start with an initial introduction and maintain regular communication. Situations can change—families might realize they can’t afford the fees, struggle with the travel requirements, children may lose interest, or families might relocate. Staying proactive and persistent can help ensure your child gets the opportunity to make a team.
p.s. some have already started or concluded their first round of supplemental tryouts...

What age, level, gender are you looking for?

There are spots available for kids at most clubs, but it may not be the level your child wants or needs. Generally if you know you won’t be in town for some reason you should have informed the club/coach before tryouts and still registered your child. If you did all of that then I would contact the coach. If not then you might want to start with the club director.
I am aware of several clubs looking for players in multiple age groups on the girls side. If you provide gender, age group and general location I am sure it will be passed around here on the forum. While there are more girls openings usually there still can be needs for boys in certain clubs. There are coaches and TMs on the board.
