I told my child to wait at least to Sunday before announcing. It's already stressful and didn't want to make the other parents/players more stressed.

You are kinder than most to care about what other players or parents think. Announce whenever you want. And congrats!

I get you are trying to do the right thing which is good. I sit in a different camp though. If you are called, please shoot me a text so I can be on the look out for communication. I would hate to be texting with friends on my team, their kids getting an invite, and them keeping that information from me.

Church bulletin, company newsletter where their parents work, banner outside of neighborhood on sign, email distribution list, etc.

It's funny, when I asked one of my teenagers- who is pretty active on social media, like the vast majority of teems these days- about this last night, they couldn't believe people actually do this and said they would would never even consider it.

In the 2012 age group or 2011 it is usually the parent doing the page and most are doing it for recruiting, believe it or not. But I know what you mean. Teens tend to have two pages if they are being recruited, a personal page and a recruiting page and they intersect only a little. But teens also post things I don’t get at all, like they repost a friend’s photo that is posed and doesn’t have them in it. I don’t understand that. Random pic of friend?

I am the keeper of my daughter's soccer socials. I updated her bios the other day as soon as the team change was official. I didn't make new posts, but did see many others that did. That is a bit much. I don't understand the reposts of friend's posts that have a picture of a totally different (third) kid?
