This is not hyperbole; I don't know a single person who is a follower (read- supporter) of the USMNT that is content, by any metric, having Gregg Berhalter as coach.
What needs to happen in order for this guy to immediately lose his job?

Lose in the quarters and it’s 50/50 depending on how good/bad it looked. Make semi and he stays. As much fun as it would be to see them make a run the best thing for the program is for him to get bounced quickly.

Can’t see how Berhalter stays on with the USMNT after tonight’s game against Uruguay. The US were out of ideas against a superior opponent. 2nd half was hard to watch. Time for Greg to go.

First, borrowing from Dani Rojas's saying, "Football is life," we need players up top who believe SCORING is life. We need strikers and forwards who want to score more than anything else. Leadership must understand that for the next two years, the world will be focused on soccer in this country. We have to put out a better product. The refereeing was an absolute ish-show. From the inept official in the center to the three blind mice in the VAR booth, it was a farce. This was the seventh international game for the center referee, with two as the fourth official in this Copa tournament and five of his seven acting as the fourth official for the World Cup in Qatar. I say send him back to Peru for some reprogramming. I do appreciate that he showed his professionalism by not shaking Pulisic's hand because he was told to celebrate with the Uruguayan team after the match. US Soccer may need to buy out Berhalter's contract. I know they plan to conduct a "comprehensive review," but all the review needed was in how we, as hosts, couldn't get out of the group stage (the first time ever in a COPA tournament). In less than two years, on June 11th, we kick off the World Cup. We need to decide who will lead this team—someone the players respect and a coach who will challenge and hold the players accountable. I also hate that the players were making excuses. Chris Richards saying it was luck that the US got eliminated is completely out of touch with what everyone else saw. This team may be talented, but it has no focus, no tenacity, and definitely no heart. You're at home, in a top tournament. Here was your chance to show the world how far US soccer has come. Report card: we failed. This Image Captures the nite appropriately...

I think moving US Soccers headquarters from Chicago to Atlanta will change things for the better. Chicago is just corrupt and well known for crazy politics. Atlanta has its own issues but for whatever reason sports isn't one of them.

To me, the reason the US didn't get out of the group stage was Tim Weah having an absolute brain lock and punching the Panamanian player in the head less than 20 minutes in, making it almost impossible for us to win a game that we definitely should have and putting us through almost automatically (with 6 points heading into the Uruguay match). The stupid, selfish actions of one player played a massive role in what happened to the team in this tournament. But yes, more goals- and competent, consistent officiating- would certainly be appreciated as well!

But yes, more goals- and competent, consistent officiating- would certainly be appreciated as well! Except: US could have scored at least 4 or 5 goals against Bolivia to pad its goal differential. Instead it settled for 2-0. US took lead against Panama after the red card
US blew the lead against Panama less than 3 minutes later due to being undisciplined in defending
US blew draw against Panama at the end of the game
At a minimum, US knew it needed a draw with Uruguay, but could not get a draw
Berhalter is telling team that Panama game is 1-1 just before free kick goal. Why? In that moment, full attention needs to be on getting result, not on being saved by a lesser team.
To blame it on one play in one game is a cop out. USMNT is not nearly as good as they thing they are and as media builds them up to be. Old excuse used to be domestic league. Now every player is playing in Europe.

get rid of Cone, Matt Crocker and Berhalter I've never heard of Nathan Crenier either, the Vice president, so remove him also. he's apparently a smart guy, but working for a group of clowns, that usually doesn't go well.

Now every player is playing in Europe.I don't disagree that the team could have played better than they did, I'm just saying against Panama specifically, the outcome of the game- everything you say they could have done differently/better- was greatly impacted by being forced to play a man down for 75% of the game due to Weah's stupid decision. The game plays out completely differently if they're playing 11v11 as opposed to 10v11, and it's much easier to play the way you want to/expect to when you're at full strength- hopefully you can at least agree with that. What would your suggestions be for what the USMNT should do moving forward, other than obvious ones like play better and score more goals?

What would your suggestions be for what the USMNT should do moving forward, other than obvious ones like play better and score more goals? Start with a new coach who actually uses tactics. Berhalter should have been fired after the World Cup and would have been fired after the World Cup if not for the Reynas attempt to get him fired. The entire world cup he mismanaged his roster and refused to use substitutions to try to get a result. There were clear signs of trouble but then after a year of interim coaches (who were equally, if not more, successful, the powers that be returned to Berhalter. BJ Callaghan was 4 wins, 3 draws, 0 losses during his interim stint Anthony Hudson was 2 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss during his interim stint Berhalter is 44, 13, 15 during his tenure (important to note that he is 7-1-6 since returning to the job on August 1, 2023. Those 7 victories are over Uzbekistan, Oman, Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Mexico and Bolivia. The losses are Germany, Trinidad & Tobago, Slovenia, Colombia, Panama and Uruguay. Number 2--are we putting the talent that we have in the best position to be successful. Reyna seemed to be much more impactful out wide against Uruguay than he was in the mid-field the rest of the tournament. Can we make formation or tactical changes to free Pulisic up to drift into the middle of the field?

Why is everything in soccer like this? There's never a simple let's look for the most qualified best player/coach/manager available. It always starts with ok who's hooked up, and who do we have to juice in to make things happen? Btw this is why I think moving US Soccer from Chicago to Atlanta might be beneficial. Chicago is known for being corrupt. Atlanta may or may not be corrupt. Time will tell.

I'm hoping it's not really Gio, but ouchie... Meanwhile, who do y'all think will be his replacement? All over SM you keep seeing Klopp. He did coach Pulisic at Dortmund, so there's that. I do hope we get a world class proven coach who can take us beyond the group stage in the next WC...

Those kind of numbers are for club coaches that put in 80 hours a week for ten months of the year. National team coaching is a part time job.

Matt Crocker needs to go also -- rehiring that clown. Bersuckalter was third lowest paid coach in copa america at 2.2m a year, only Peru and mexico were below him. I don't see us forking out the big bucks for this job - lets see, given the World Cup is here, the investment is priceless. Once in a 30 year opportunity, have to cease the moment and make an impact.
look the world cup is expanding in 2026, getting out of the group will be easy, winning a game in the elimination bracket is another story.
