Those kind of numbers are for club coaches that put in 80 hours a week for ten months of the year. National team coaching is a part time job. Sure-but the point is he won’t come for peanuts. No doubt. It will need to be a near record setting deal. I believe Nagelsmann is the highest paid national coach at around $5 million.

Matt Crocker needs to go also -- rehiring that clown. Bersuckalter was third lowest paid coach in copa america at 2.2m a year, only Peru and mexico were below him. I don't see us forking out the big bucks for this job - lets see, given the World Cup is here, the investment is priceless. Once in a 30 year opportunity, have to cease the moment and make an impact. look the world cup is expanding in 2026, getting out of the group will be easy, winning a game in the elimination bracket is another story. Why did you say getting out of the group will be easy. You just jinxed it... Real talk, we should have done so much better in Copa and gotten out of the group stage. I know you still have to play the game and Uruguay is not to be messed with but we were higher ranked than Uruguay, Panama and Bolivia (14th, 43rd and 84th)...

They will probably just ask Emma to coach both teams now that Klopp said no.
Please no MLS coach.
Hugo Perez is my choice.

I really think it’s a massive plus to hire a coach with national team experience because it’s so different than being a club manager since you don’t have time to implement any system totally. That said, it sounds crazy but, I’d be fascinated to see the tape of a Graham Potter interview. He was so good at Swansea and Brighton and did as well as anyone could have at that time for Chelsea. His analytical approach and flexibility on setting up a team to their strengths is the type of coach that is needed, even if it’s not him.

Being a mid MLS coach with mid players is about the same as being a successful MLS coach with a few decent MLS-level players. Cherundolo is just another weak GGG-type meant to allow SUM/USSF to maintain control.
