So I have been juggling twenty balls in the air lately and not in a good way so I have not been in the loop, but I noticed that Miles did not seem to play at all in the warm up matches and then again last night. I could not find anything on an injury and frankly cannot fathom how anyone can think Ream is better, but then I have heard not one peep from the pundits about this choice either. Now I have seen some commentary regarding all starters being players on European rosters, but that is it. Anyone else have more insight. I just haven’t been able to find anything about this, but it really did appear that Zimmerman and Robinson were the favorites until recently. Richards I understand a bit as he is certainly improving as he is maturing and getting time, but Ream has always had some weak spots and well, nuff said.

I like Ream. Smart CB like Parky but at Premier League level. I am surprised he is playing and not just a veteran leadership spot.
No clue on Miles. I don’t really watch MLS but I suspect Miles hasn’t been the same since he got injured. Was on a strong upward trajectory and then hit a wall.

The few Fulham games I saw Ream play he struggled against Premier league speed which was always the knock against him. His distribution was a bit off at times too. He is smart as far as covering is teammates’ mistakes and his positioning is concerned. We have ATL tix and Miles really did not struggle at all when he returned and was not struggling for Cincinnati either except maybe one bad match. He has looked strong for the US when playing in the back and has not been an issue for us at all. Miles is very smart too. He has been playing in a back three lately though which is very different than what we have been doing. Maybe that is it?
