Are you setting up evaluation sessions with MLS Clubs outside of your local geography?
Be honest with yourself. Are you the type of player coaches are looking for. If yes continue doing what your doing. If no address and start doing what coaches are looking for.

Due to your response it’s obvious you have no experience dealing with pro academies. This is the dumbest advice I have ever seen on here and you continue to show your lack of soccer knowledge.

Ok what is your suggestion for how to get on an MLS Pro team when you're currently on a MLSN team? If your local MLS Pro team doesn't have roster spots for what a local MLSN player can provide what do you do? Do you speak with your current MLSN coach expressing interest in playing MLS Pro? If there's nothing available do you play for a different MLSN club and ask them for a referral to play for a MLS Pro team? Do you just say screw it and try to play for a college team? Do you start reaching out to different MLSN clubs to see what they think your potential is for playing MLS Pro? While you might be under contract with a certain club there has to be a way to voice that you want to play professionally. The local MLSN club should be communicating with players in regular intervals to understand what players want to do and providing assessments on how / if you have what it takes to play professionally. It sounds like if a MLSN player is asking on a forum about how to play professionally that communication and expectations aren't happening. Which heavily implies that the MLSN club that they play for is pay to play and not Academy.

This is the dumbest advice I have ever seen on here and you continue to show your lack of soccer knowledge. Ok what is your suggestion for how to get on an MLS Pro team when you're currently on a MLSN team? I would suggest maybe joining one of the feeder-partner clubs like NASA, UFA, GSA, CF. That is where Atlanta United pick-off their players from...If your local MLS Pro team doesn't have roster spots for what a local MLSN player can provide what do you do? If you're a good player, work hard, have a good work-rate and have someone, say a DOC from one of the feeder clubs, advocating for you, they will make space...
Other than the talking to your current coach, which I wouldn't suggest, yes, maybe if you're not good enough, I've never heard of that hurting your chances...While you might be under contract with a certain club there has to be a way to voice that you want to play professionally. The local MLSN club should be communicating with players in regular intervals to understand what players want to do and providing assessments on how / if you have what it takes to play professionally. Which heavily implies that the MLSN club that they play for is pay to play and not Academy. I believe almost every kid at this level wants to play professionally, circumstances dictate if, when or where that happens or if you top-out as a college or high school player. I'm starting to believe you may not have kids or been around youth soccer clubs since most do not do this (which made me laugh, though). Yup, most likely not occurring. Locally, if it's not Atlanta United, they are all pay-to-play, so no surprise there.

I have been trying to get scouted to mls next pro academy but no luck. anybody have any tips I congratulate you on trying to take control of and chart your own journey towards your goal(s). I wish I could give you a direct road map to reach your goal, but I will say this. Everyone has a different pathway and journey. I'm sure others on here will offer up other options, but for now I will offer these ideas and hope they help you reach your goal... If you're looking to go through the MLS-Next Pro Academy route locally, then only choice is Atlanta United. You have to be lucky enough to be seen by one of their local scouts, be on a local team that feeds into Atlanta United (NASA, UFA, GSA, CF and on the outside SSA), have a friend on one of the current teams who can recommend you to his coach, who would then let the scouting team know to check you out. For reference, the local scout you have to convince is Wil Clayton. He scouts for the Academy all the way through to AU 2. If you have good video on your abilities, then it doesn't hurt to collate all of those on a Youtube channel with appropriate titles and clips (e.g. defensive moves, offensive moves, MLSN showcase, scoring, high-school, etc.). One other option to get your foot in the door for AU is to try attending on of their RDS sessions. I would hurry and do this because there is a max age limit. There are also one of their age-appropriate camps/clinics... If you are looking for a pro academy outside the ATL, then your best bets are Charlotte, Nashville and Orlando because of their proximity. But you will have to make sure you're not on the protected list for Atlanta United if not you would have to get clearance from AU to transition out. Or if one of your parents/guardian is "lucky" to get a job within one of those homegrown regions, you can bypass that need. You're only option would be to follow them of open tryouts, clinics/RDS camps. If those are not an option, then I would again practice your college recruitment early by sending them good 1-2 minute videos of your skills. Just make sure the videos show you in a very positive light. Please keep chasing your dream and know that we wishing you all the best and cheering you on...

I do have a teammate from last season who just transferred to atlanta united we do play them during the season so i will try my best to show the scouts what i can do. thank you

Why is AFC dropping MLS Next? highschool most players at afc play on mcintosh wich is a top ranked national school so they want to play highschool & club so they decided to drop mls next for older age groups This is not entirely accurate though it may be what AFC told players and families to spin them. In reality MLS Next was not awarded to AFC for above U15. I'm sure they tried to get it, they were not awarded it when they got MLS Next.

AFC feeds McIntosh HS which has won state twice in the last 4 years and nominated to be no 1 by coaches on the national level. They also feed Starr's Mille, Whitewater Northgate and East Coweta, all who go deep into state finals each year......SSA has been digging into grouping with MLS Nest since AFC has been pushing more east Fayette and Clayton county payers to fill its roster.......Basically kids are wanting to play HS ball........I don't think AFC could put together 222 kids willing to not play HS and be able to compete with MLS

AFC Can't fill the roster and be competitive in the High School ages because the ids would rather have a chance at a ring......Their NAL teams are usually top of the tier because they can still play HS ball

Why is AFC dropping MLS Next? Also if you look at the MLS schedule in the southeast.....there are twice as many teams @ U15 then there is at the U17 Correct, but when the big news of AFC getting MLS Next was announced it was always to U15, and it was pointed out they applied for higher ages and were only awarded to U15. I remember this happening back when it happened. Part of it very well may be lack of being able to fill teams, but it seems whoever the powers that be in MLS Next made that decision for AFC not AFC making the decision themselves was my point. Their NAL team would be the MLS team U16 and above if they had it that high. They had to scramble to find another high level league to put a top team in. NAL is that, but I don't think you would lose that many top tier kids if it was MLS instead. Not to mention they have loosened the rules a bit on kids in MLS next playing in high school now anyway hence why one played at Newnan last spring and one played at Northgate last spring when it did not interfere with their MLS games in the spring.

I don't believe that is accurate. MLS Next didn't expand and add AFC Lightning until the 2021-22 season to begin with. DA ended after the 2020 season, so they had one limbo season where they had nothing then got picked up by MLS Next for the 2021-22 season. As per this press release they were added the 2021-22 season. www.mlssoccer.com/news/mls-next-completes-strategic-expansion-ahead-of-2021-2022-seasonIf they had above U15 at all it was only for one season and then it was taken away from them via MLS Next (maybe it was mutual) but they did not have it long and I think the decision was mutual (if it was mutual) only because of the optics of it versus MLS saying they were taking it away. I agree that given the photo they had it at least the first year, but I do not believe they had it after that. The reason I say that is because we are friends with a kid that ended up playing SSA MLS Next and had looked at AFC, and he would have been a Junior in HS the 2022-23 season (U17 season for most), and the fact that AFC had no MLS above U15 made his decision easy which club to go to back when he was deciding to try out and go for MLS Next. He had been playing DA with SSA, then MLS Next with them, and AFC was never an option because of the age limit they went to. I am fuzzy on the exact date and time they knew they were only going to have it to U15, but if they had it above it was only for one year or maybe it was just for that one team that one year they had above U15.

AFC has also started a team in the UPSL which has players ranging from 16 to 22. AFC used to have MLS NEXT and NPL for the 08's both teams could hardly compete in either league, the next year the 08's dropped to E64 and SCCL tier 3, the following year they moved over to NAL and SCCL tier 2 & 4 for the 08's and I believe it is the same this year.....
