Is the plan to not release the schedule until everyone’s entire Labor Day weekend is ruined by not knowing what our plans are.

I'm sure it will be released at a similar timeframe to all other tournaments, 6-10 days out. I can't remember the last time a schedule was out earlier than that, other than maybe an ECNL or ECRL Showcase. Even those don't get finalized until about 6-10 days out, and they expect the players to send emails to college coaches in advance to notify them of the schedule. Imagine being a college coach and receiving dozens of schedules less than a week before a showcase.
Getting this close to the actual tournament and not having a schedule is typical.

Is the plan to not release the schedule until everyone’s entire Labor Day weekend is ruined by not knowing what our plans are. Having soccer games- tournaments & regular season- over Labor Day weekend really just sucks, both for players & parents. There are plenty of other weekends in the fall to get games in, and yet they decide to ruin the best weekend all fall to travel & do other non-soccer things (including the opening weekend of college football) with soccer games. My ECRL kid has games on both Saturday & Sunday- for the first time since we have been in ECRL for the past 3-4 seasons!- as does every other team in our division. But then, the ENTIRE DIVISON has the following (non-holiday) weekend off! And it's not like it's because of something like trying to avoid the SAT or ACT- neither of those tests are being offered that weekend. But they are being offered on Aug. 24 (SAT) and Sept. 14 (ACT)- when again, every single team in our division has a game. We also have more wide open weekends Sept. 28-29 (nothing going on), Oct. 12-13 (which is defensible since almost everyone will have some sort of fall break around that weekend), & Oct. 26-27 (ACT held on Oct. 26). But all 3 SAT Saturdays from August-November overlap with a full slate of games. I know that only matters for the oldest two age groups, but you would think they would take that into account when scheduling for those age groups. Actually, who am I kidding? That would require some common sense & empathy- we know those have rarely been a part of club soccer, both from the clubs themselves and the leagues as a whole. And we're the ones who get to pay for all this fun!

Do teams enter which division they want to be in or do they place them? There are a few teams that I know that are playing in the Championship Division that really have me scratching my head as to why they would have been placed there (P3 teams playing championship vs the premier championship)

Thank you…I’d like to think my rant had something to do with it even though I know better.

I just checked the ECRL schedule for every age group in the SE and there is only one game in the two oldest age groups that Saturday (8/31) morning. Otherwise, every other age group is off the entire weekend and games pick up Sept. 7th.

Because every single ECRL girls team in the Southeast division in every age group has games on both Saturday & Sunday of Labor Day weekend (8/31 & 9/1). What a fun way to spend a holiday weekend! Who needs a trip to the lake or mountains, or going to watch an opening weekend college football game, or just hanging out with friends at the pool. Let's send everyone to the soccer field!

We get to make a trip Labor Day Weekend, 2 of them actually. First we get to travel to Alabama, then we get to travel to Georgia Soccer Park. I'm not sure what is worse. This schedule or traveling to Alabama on a Sunday in November for a 4PM Central time game.

Ah, our club doesn't have ECRL on the girls side. Thanks for the clarification. That sucks that they weren't consistent with the schedule for both genders. Maybe there's a showcase or something that limits the options they can schedule regular season games? Otherwise I don't get why they couldn't spread the games out other open weekends.

Yeah, I have no idea how it all works either. I'm sure it has to do with field & ref availability, among other things. I've also learned that it's pointless to ask or complain about it, and can even be detrimental. Just sucks that outside of one boys ECNL club that randomly has games for all age groups that Saturday, the ECRL girls are the only ECNL or ECRL Southeast group playing games at all over Labor Day weekend.
