How is ODP on the boys side? I have a 2011 boy.
Is is to have more training and tournaments overall? TIA

From my experience, it's been great but depends on what you (and your player) want out of it. The primary benefit to me is the chance to get additional (better?) coaching while playing with and against other top-level players. ODP can be a great opportunity to enhance your player's development.

Our experience has been little to no coaching no feedback on players we did have a "fun time".Its good to meet people and coaches that is about it. If your player is on a lower team it will help them with confidence. Its best for the younger ages many of the best players don't play past U12.

Do you know if they select the kids that go to the events? Or all are invited and separated in teams?

I actually asked this question to someone at the program- A player from the pool of players is selected for a tournament and its based on their availability if they play (club soccer comes first). I am assuming for different tournaments or games they choose players based on talent. |

They have dates which you post your availability. They pick players from the available pool to fill the teams for the dates and games they have scheduled.The players are put into a depth chart by position. If your player is at the bottom of the depth chart you may not get to play. If you are picked there will be a Fee usually around $150-$200 to play for the weekend. If your chosen for regional $850and up.

As a parent I think it’s good for the kids to network with other top level players as well as coaches from other organizations, which are both reasons some coaches and organizations are less enthusiastic about their kids playing.
