hum, his love affair with timmy chandler has to stop. if he didn't play in germany, no chance he would keep making this roster. and one more, bobby wood -- haven't seen him play for his club team, but not impressed with his little time so far. he missed a gimmy in his first game, one that my 8 year old would have buried. again, if wood didn't play in germany, would he be on this roster?? does the jermaine jones at center back experiment continue? if so, he'll only make it 2 games in competitive play because of yellow cards! U.S. MNT ROSTER BY POSITION - DETAILED ROSTERGOALKEEPERS (4): Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Bill Hamid (D.C. United), Sean Johnson (Chicago Fire), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake) DEFENDERS (9): DaMarcus Beasley (Houston Dynamo), Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), John Brooks (Hertha Berlin), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Timmy Chandler (Eintracht Frankfurt), Greg Garza (Club Tijuana), Fabian Johnson (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Jermaine Jones (New England Revolution), DeAndre Yedlin (Seattle Sounders FC) MIDFIELDERS (6): Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Alejandro Bedoya (Nantes), Mix Diskerud (Rosenborg), Julian Green (Hamburg), Alfredo Morales (Ingolstadt), Lee Nguyen (New England Revolution) FORWARDS (6): Jozy Altidore (Sunderland), Miguel Ibarra (Minnesota United FC), Jordan Morris (Stanford), Rubio Rubin (Utrecht), Bobby Wood (1860 Munich), Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes)

I used to be down on Jones because he is a lunatic, but the WC turned me. He gave everything every game.
And I'm warming to the idea of lunatics on the field. Passion is incredibly important. MPepe level passion is maybe too much, but Jones is a competitor, no doubt. I'm sure he will do well in back.
I have never seen Chandler do anything special. He has good speed, I agree.
Wood could stand another look. He seemed to have good striker sense, and missing a sitter could be attributed to nerves. Hopefully he can work through that and do well.
I'd like to see more you guys.

That has to be the least intimidating selection of Forwards we've ever called up. And Beasley, Beckerman and Wondo need to be phased out- not sure why we would waste roster spots on them at this point. Maybe for leadership/mentorship but I'm not sold on it. God I'm glad the WC is still 3 years away.

“The Klinsmann way” is so hard to define because it doesn't exist soccergods.com/2014/11/12/jurgen-klinsmann/Each time Jurgen Klinsmann drops a roster announcement on U.S. soccer’s madding crowd, we strain to see the deeper, more meaningful messages. We aren’t just looking for obvious — the “obvious” in this equation being the list of players, the “made men” of the moment who find themselves in sweet favor. No, we’re also seeking clues to the manager’s modus operandi, for the “tells” that tip everyone once and for all to this quirky manager’s preferred metrics. We keep searching for signs of the “Klinsmann way.”
