Let's hope Kirk Melish's "light rain not all day" Saturday is correct...

Yes. I wonder what the Generation Adidas Cup will do if relevant Atlanta regions get the anticipated 0.20-0.25 in of rain. That is a pretty good bit of precipitation, although it appears it will be spread out over the day Saturday. They have the turf fields at Fowler Park, but they cannot play everything there. Fields may be able to handle that much precipitation, although end of season condition often more quickly compromises old and poorly drained grass fields.

Hope they are able to get it in. It's such a huge tourney in that uses so many fields so some will be better than others. We are all the way up at Allen Creek in Gainesville starting with an 8am game tomorrow. (Ugh!) I think if the rain is light enough, everyone should be ok but there's no doubt that it's not going to be a very pleasant weather experience for anyone.

Now predicting something like a third of an inch of rain for Norcross, Cumming, and Gainesville regions. Most of it by noon. That is significant precipitation.

With tournaments being played this weekend and many teams traveling, hopefully they call the tournament in time for those coming from out of state. The chance of rain looks probable. Would hate to drive so far and not be able to play a game.

Received this from UFA-Norcross tournament this afternoon: After receiving numerous emails/calls in regards to the weather, we are advising you of our plans.
Right now, the chance of rain is 80% tomorrow, however the precipitation total expected is less than .2". With that being said, all games are expected to be played as scheduled.
If anything changes, we will notify teams by: •email through Soccer in College •tournament website •hotline number (770-840-7696)

Most of it is supposed to come down before noon. That is nontrivial. Heck we are getting one of those classic cold air damming scenarios right now that is creating this gloom that is going to last through tomorrow. But they might be wrong and Tony Annan is correct because he has his own highly paid meteorologist on staff providing hourly updates using the most sophisticated equipment in the NOAA arsenal (no, not THAT Arsenal). Regardless, it might end up being okay, but it is certainly not going to be pleasant. And it is not like the ground is dry. I could see some of those fields coming undone pretty quickly.
