It's interesting to see the RPL rosters. Looks like GSA has five girls rostered on both U13 RPL and U14 ECNL Looks like AFU has five double rostered too. Granted that some girls don't play much on ECNL but that's quite an advantage for those teams. Hats off to both of those teams for playing so well but I appreciate the wins of the teams who win without that advantage.
I was interested to see Chiefs top U13 is now on the GSA roster. That's quite an addition for them and a surprise to see it mid year. She's excellent. The Chiefs team will be hurting this spring.

Yeah supposedly she got caught up in the gsa recruiting storm and wanted to see what the fuss is all about. And with chiefs they've always been good about saying if you aren't happy then here's your release. Says a lot about a club to say go see if that grass if greener. Though I doubt they'll drop off at all just losing one player. It seems to be next "man" up mentality over there.

What do you mean 'she wanted to see what the fuss was all about'?

Where/how do you see the rosters?

Where/how do you see the rosters? I clicked the link in the first message of this thread. From there, click on the link for the spring schedules and click Standings. Click the team name and then click on their team number on the next screen. There's probably a faster way to get there but that's how I got there. I'm not crazy about using kids names on here. If the term "franchise player" applied to youth soccer, it would apply to her. She was the top player playing up on their U14s and I think she's really a U12. That's a huge loss. A lot of the kids on the top teams know each other from ODP, 3v3, etc. so I suspect she knows what she's getting into.

Shes a u13 not a U12. Shes an 02 and a great player. Huge loss for the chiefs...great gain for GSA.
This change has been a long time coming and she's very happy with her decision

Hmm. I thought she was a U12 too. Thought she was in 6th grade…. Godspeed to her!

Interesting... now there's another Chiefs player on the GSA roster. I wonder what's up with the Chiefs team.

The new GSA player is a U12. Born in fall of 02.

Maybe shes barely a U12, but she has been playing U13 and U14 for a while now. Regardless of her age, shes a great player and has a great attitude as well.
Chiefs cant offer her the same opportunities that a bigger club or a better team can. Even with her on the team they only won 3 games in the fall of Athena A, they just cant compete with some of the other clubs. She has guested with the GSA team a few times so it wasn't really a surprise when she made the switch.

Good for her, Clubs should release the kid if the kid has an opportunity to better themselves.

She is a great kid with a wonderful attitude. She'll work really well with the group already there.

thats good to hear. when a kid outgrows what their current club has to offer, its always nice to see releases granted and allowing kids to move on to team that might better suit his or her playing level.

They weren't happy to let her go, but its not like they had a choice at the end. But why try to force a kid to play where she doesn't want to play. This was her decision

This was her decision yea, i could see that!! once the bills are payed in full, you have to let the kid leave. thats always tough! but clearly the kid is in the right place. she must be a player, would love to get to see her play. i enjoy watching the players (might not be her, but) that are clearly better than everyone else on the pitch on any given day. the ones that clearly get it, see the field, work harder than everyone, and just have that touch on the ball that is special.

That is great for her because she really needs to be on a team that can support her but it just re-enforces my thoughts of the lure of ECNL Clubs. There are other clubs in Athena A that that she would have made a bigger impact on, regardless she is an enjoyable player to watch.
