What did you think?
I was disappointed in many things. Giveaways were frequent and brutal. Defense was disorganized.
There were a few bright spots, but not many for me.
The announcers went on and on about how tired USA were, but even the subs were not putting in the effort. I felt like it was nothing more than excuses.

Yes very disorganized in the back. Jones looks to be struggling a bit in adapting to a defensive role. He looked better the last game but I'm sure there will be steps taken backwards as he figures it out. I thought the offense had it's moments and Bradley looked pretty fit considering his foot surgery a few months ago but like you said...there were way too many giveaways. Also it seemed Chile were better at taking us off the ball. Glad to see them trying different things and getting new players involved. It's a long time from World Cup 2018 but they do have to have a plan. We'll just have to wait and see.

Still haven't watched the 2nd half. but wasn't impressed with 1st half, even being up 2-1. lots of standing around, poorly played balls, jermaine jones giving the ball away.
and last but not least, how did the legendary bobby wood play? what i saw, he didn't even touch the ball and at times looked like he was playing the number 10 role with jozy and clint up top......
i'll say this, this team will never win with the great bobby wood on the field. you are basically playing 11 v 10.

Playing Jones out of position (as a centerback with free license to roam forward) is messing everything up. I know Klinsmann is trying to find a way to have Jones on the field in 2018 but this experiement is destined to fail. I felt bad for Besler and Birnbaum having to scramble to cover for Jones after every US turnover. Don't understand why we are so poor as keeping possession even when our better ball handlers are on the field together- guys like Bradley, Mix, Dempsey, Nguyen, Jones, etc. Just not good enough from them. The team will benefit from getting Fabian Johnson and Greg Garza back as fullbacks. Yedlin was okay using his speed to get forward but his terrible defensive positioning left him exposed again and again on defense.

If you weren't impressed with the first half, I doubt you'll be impressed with the second. Understatement of the year And speaking of not impressed, when they substituted Dempsey off, I was genuinely surprised. I had forgotten he was out there at all. And I'm a Dempsey fan.

Basically since playing with the U.S. national team the great bobby wood has played 204 mins for the team while only logging 4 mins with his club team.
Tony Meola and John Harkes agreed it makes no sense.
And yes these games don't mean anything, but than the same is true when they actually win. Tony m and Harkes were in agreement these games do matter - especially for every player fighting for a spot on the roster.
And lastly - I still despise the white kit, especially buttoned. Looks like they are getting ready for a tennis match at Wimbledon
Long live the great bobby wood. Everytime I say his name I have the great Janis Joplin song stuck in my head -- me and bobby McGee
