160.3b Placement for U-13 and older select teams will be determined by points accumulated during the previous season (i.e., either Fall or Spring). For these teams, relegation and promotion between divisions will occur twice a year and will be based upon the points standings from the previous season.
Basically teams/clubs apply and then GA Soccer determines whether you can be in it or not. If your team is one of the top teams at U12 now, more than likely you will be in Classic 1 in the fall. Theres no guarantee that a team will be in Classic 1 when you try out. Tryouts are in May and team placements in August.

i'm always interested to see the teams that elect to play in the academy cup and those that don't. the ones that don't are typically the top 5 teams in that age group and know they are in for sure. ie this year concorde north elite and central (i see them getting 2 teams in, even if they make one super elite team) UFA fowler Lanier
but anyone who knows the age group well, probably can tell you who the top teams 5-10 teams are. the difficulty this year, was so many played classic II -IV, the other teams didn't get to play the top boys on a weekly basis.

C2, even though they had a lot of C1 players they were a new team and should have been left at C2. They were originally placed there and then list was taken down and then when it came back up they were in C3.

They were originally placed there and then list was taken down and then when it came back up they were in C3. KSA did manage to entice a "few" u12 Academy A players from GSA but most parents opted out and declined the heavy recruiting the former GSA coach and trainer offered. In retrospect a very wise decision on the GSA's parents part in light they are now playing RPL.

i know a couple of kids in that team and theyre very happy with their decision. Theyre not from GSA. Some things work for some and some work for others. I wish them all the luck this season
