Theres one coming to Atlanta in June. Has anyone ever been? Is it worth the time and $$ to attend to it?

Was invited to attend last year as a staff coach-it was a decent level and had good coaches. If the schools your child is interested in are attending, then it is a decent camp (much better than Exact Sports).

At what age is it best to start going to combines? Ninth grade. Most combines, if not all, are for high school players. Maybe some make an exception. My daughter didn't go to many combines, but when she did they grouped her graduation year together. Even if you don't expect that your child will be recruited at a younger age, it can't hurt for them to go to some of the combines to get accustomed to how they work and comfortable with it.

My kid is not in HS yet but it will let me register her. Shes not sure of what school she wants to go either..I guess Im looking more for it right now for the experience and get used to it for when it matters. I guess im looking for some feedback/report if she goes since they do give you one.

Maybe that will change to by the time the combine starts. I am not sure how old your daughter is or when she graduates. I do agree that it's good to get experience as early as possible, I'm just not sure how early that should begin. When it comes to girls who want to play in the major D1 programs, and who have the ability to do so, recruiting starts earlier than you might think. Those girls come onto the radar of the school when they are freshman, and they start committing during their sophomore (earlier depending on the school) and early in their junior year. From what I've seen the boys recruiting process is slower.

I did see that about the age but it also allows me to register with her DOB. I have also seen on TDS website younger girls that have gone to these since the reports are posted on the website. Maybe I will send them an email and see what they say.

I would check with TDS. It would seem to me that graduation year would be even more important that age. Is your daughter an 8th grader? Some of the id camps and combines are okay with rising 9th graders.

I am just curious, since I can no longer connect age with grade, does your daughter play primarily with girls who are in the same grade? Mine played with girls a grade younger. So, recruiting was a bit trickier for her. I've talked with other parents whose daughters are in the same situation, and they had the same experience. When college coaches came to watch, they thought she was the same graduating year as the rest of the team. So, we always felt a bit out of sync with what was happening in the process. It worked out in the end, but she did have to be more proactive and had to constantly remind the college coaches of her graduation year.
