US vs France:
Anyone watching? First half over.
I like Morgan and Press on top. I'm not sure about Carley on the side. We need to win and keep possession in the middle So far Harris doing really well in goal.

France was definely better today. US needs to figure this out. Hopefully, Rapinoe is back soon. Lloyd on the side doesn't work. She was much more involved when she was moved back to the center. Rodriguez made it in, but not for long.
I liked Press and Morgan on top at the beginning of the game. They had some chances. After watching the entire game, I just don't know. Give Rodriguez a chance.
Oh, and no Culupny in LB. She's a midfielder. She may have a place on the WC team, but not at LB.

Missed the women. Watching the mens now. How was heath and Morgan Brian? Just can't believe we got shutout. Morgan Brian struggled in the middle, as did Holiday. Heath was on the outside. I thought she did well. I appreciate her skill and work rate. I listened to Dicicco after the game. He said the second goal couldn't be blamed on Harris. It was Chulupny that was beaten up the side (twice in two minutes). As I said Chulupny isn't a back, and she was up against the fasted player on the French team. So, I'm not sure I understand that one. O'Hara, Dunn, Boxx and VanHolenbeck, and O'Reilly didn't make it in. Harris had a couple of nice saves. Ultimately they are going to have to do much better, and Ellis is going to have to figure out who to go with. Abby was awarded a PK that shouldn't have been. The contact happened outside the box, and there wasn't that much contact. She missed. The keeper guessed right, but the kick just wasn't that hard. Alex Morgan got behind the defense a couple of times, but couldn't finish, although she's been out for some time. I didn't see much of her during the second half, although I think she played the entire half. There is still much to work on. I watched part of the men's game, but not all of it. What did you think?

men's game was at least watchable. not great defensively ,but panama wasn't good enough to capitalize on the many mistakes made. rimando showed he is very good with his feet for sure, made a couple of tough passes out of the back, one in particular to besler that should have resulted in a goal. defensively, we are still a little disjointed. the ball doesn't seem to roll very smooth when we play. tough passess to settle and players seem to give the ball up and to others under pressure to often. you can see why against a better side, we struggle, we honestly look like a 2nd team playing top teams at times and that we struggle with the speed of play. that being said, i thought bradley, zardes, demps, ibarra and jozy all played well and should all be on the filed when it comes to picking your strongest squad. ibarra has great energy. bradley's goal was pretty nasty, one of the sickest corners i've ever seen. on to the women...... yikes. only watched the first half. as lovethegame said --- brian and holiday were not good defensively at all. their effort level just wan't there, would give the ball up or get beat easily and then rarely fight back to win the ball back. probably why we struggled in the first half. its one game, but brian struggled against the experienced french team. lloyd has no right playing on the outside. chalupny was just overmatched against the french player and given their speed it was a strange decision to start her. she was not very good. the entire defense and holiday were looking to play long balls instead of to feet. tough to watch. tobin to me is frustrating as all hell also, she is the most technical player on the team and she just doesnt seem to fit into the flow of the game. felt bad for ashlyn harris, first goal she had no chance, 2nd goal was a fluke. she made some nice saves mostly because our midfield never defended. (just saw highlights of goals) not sure if alex and press are the answer together, the 2 didn't really seem to play off each other well, might be because alex hasn't played.
