one problem that will get worse in the future, is the divide between MLS academy teams and non-mls academy teams. Not sure what you can do about it, but maybe the horizon is a sepearte league comletely for the MLS academy teams. I hope not.
But here is an example, the 2014-15 Generation Adidas Cup (yes its an MLS thing, homegrown etc)
The second phase of the 2014-15 Generation adidas Cup, an annual tournament for U-17 MLS academy teams, kicks off March 29. Seventeen of the 20 MLS clubs are sending teams and will be joined by 10 foreign clubs and Chivas USA, whose first team folded after the 2014 season.
