I don't know how to start a new thread. Can someone start one about tryouts tonight - which ones still on as scheduled, which ones rescheduled to new fields, times, days, which ones cancelled? If tryouts your son/daughter were planning to attend are cancelled, would you consider taking him/her to different club tonight? Sure Will do

The 18s and 19s this week were moved to turf fields in Atlanta, but I don't think a decision has been made about the final 4 games. Its on the front page of the SC website, all Final 4 games will be moved to turf venues updated schedule out Wednesday.

NTH White 04 White advances to the final four Wash just keeps on winning! Good for him and those girls. Thank you for that, the girls have worked hard. They started in Athena C at U13 and just wrapped up an undefeated season in Athena A. To the best of my recollection I don't think a club's fourth tier team has ever made the final four. You can say SC is watered down and there is validity to that but it's still a great accomplishment. They played with 13/14 players this weekend, without two starters (no guest players) and played against a RPL and SRPL team and won. Regardless of what happens next weekend, the girls should be extremely proud of their progress the last two years and their efforts this weekend.

Correct. U14 CF Central Black girls had 3 ECNL players on field today vs UFA Premier. Scored the 2 goals that won the game. Didnt matter today, they tied NTH and did not advance

That's already been confirmed, look at the schedules online and you can see the venues for the final four next weekend. It still says Mt. Carmel, are they being moved elsewhere? Believe that's the confirmed venue

You can extend tryouts through the weekend and have supplementary tryouts the following week as well in the event of rain.

Correct. CF Central Black U14 girls had 3 ECNL girls on the field today. Of course, they scored the 2 goals that was the difference in the game vs UFA Premier. Did they play against GSA when they lost on Saturday?

I'll go one further: The coach doesn't believe in his/her ability as a coach or their players.

Dropped a deuce at Fowler. Always blown away by how beautiful North Georgia is and I wish I could convince my wife to move there but she is afraid of the rednecks. Great place with great facilities. People that play there are truly blessed with a top notch facility in a God's country. Please refrain from posting stuff like this. We certainly invite healthy discourse but this serves no purpose on here. Thank you.

They say dropping ECNL players down to lower level teams is for developmental purposes, how come it's never players from a team a level below under the guise of "development purposes", spin it however you want its solely to help the lower team win.

Franklin Gateway and the Atlanta United training facility could probably host a majority of State Cup and they are a mile apart.

What I find annoying about this announcement is how uninformative it is and how bad the timing is. I say bad because they did not give the parents on both sides any chance to digest, play out scenarios and ask pertinent questions about the logistics of how things are going to be: DA Safe to say the boys trying out for U15 and older will go to CF Central, is that where they'll practice? What about coaching, any changes. Was there a DA ID Camp where both sides could send their boys so everyone gets an idea as to where they stand and know if there is a legitimate chance of making the team. ECNL Where will the tryouts be and where will they practice out of? Will they house one at CF and the other at SSA? Who will coach, is there one big tryout and the first 20 are on the ECNL A and next 20 on the ECNL B? NPL Who will be the coach for NPL and again where will they tryout and where will they practice? Will it still be housed at SSA or was CF able to snag that in the alliance? You get the gist. And you're surprised by this? The same club that waited until the last possible minute to publicly announce they were not offering Girls DA when everyone else knew for weeks?

Big 5 starts SCCL because RPL was grossly mismanaged, GA Soccer declares Big 5 are no longer eligible to play NL and RPL, now GA Soccer wants the Big 5 to help secure fields for State Cup.

As we approach tryouts, we are faced with the scenario of where and when to tryout. We are trying out at our current club. There will be a lot more team movement this year at the age level and new coaches. Her existing coach is there to provide feedback to prospective coaches and we have a general sense of one of two teams she would likely make. Will not be top team, hoping and will try hard for the second which is still a very competitive team. She would like to look at a new team. We do not know any of the coaches, players, etc. So it will be a true first look. We will attend a pre-tryout clinic but no guarantee that her future coach would even see her there. So the question is - when to go to each club. I was planning the first two days at the current club with the new club on the third day. The rationale is to try to see if she can make the preferred team at existing club on the first or second night. If she is not with the the preferred team by then, we have a general idea she will not make that team. Then go to the new club on the last night just so they can get a look and have a feel where she would fit in with the new club. Thoughts and feedback? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! The third tryout night is a waste. Rosters are 99% set by night two. You must contact the director or coach at the new club and make a sales pitch, ask questions and try to stand out. They need to know who your child is BEFORE tryouts ever start. At tryouts wear something that stands out. Don’t look like the other kids. Bright shoes or socks, headband or jersey of a pro athlete with that famous name on the back. So what if they yell “Neymar” or “Salah “ at you kid. Just get some attention some how. Not always true- I've seen some good kids show up on the last night, that's the night most people shop around. Especially if coaches aren't honest to their players about where they stand and blindside the kid on the second night to tell them they don't have a spot on the team for next year.

I don't really care how badass a coach you are having 3 DA teams will leave a set of kids and parents feeling 3rd class...because one of those teams will be feeling 2nd class. Now if he has assistants with trusted authority that could batten down the hatches a little maybe... but I think 2 teams should be a ciaches limit. TG always has multiple DA and ECNL teams, he does fine.
