Great turn out over the weekend. 02's had well over 100+, 03's close to 70, 04's close to 70, 05's around 60. A lot of none Concorde.
Great to see good numbers.

I know, just stating, that GA United players were told they were not allowed to attend. Which probably isn't right. But whatever, I don't' have a dog in the fight, but why is OK to attend a UFA or an Atlanta United ID session, but they can't attend a concorde one. Doesn't seem right in my opinion, but that life.

Actually, this rule applies to all DA players, unless as someone said you get permission. It's an effort to try to publicly avoid open recruitment. I believe for non-DA teams in Georgia the date when you're no longer obligated to your team is May 16th. However, with DA it's when your games with DA are completed or if you get permission from your Coach/DOC.

Yes, thats the point, they were not given permission to attend. It wasn't you can't attend, its you are not being given permission to attend, and this is even kids they know they are not keeping. This late in the season, not sure why they have to play that game, just let the kids go.

grasshopper- Sorry I miss understood. You are right. Why is it OK for ALL other DA's to give permission to go to open ids but not Concordes. It doesnt seem like its a level playing ground.
US Soccer or the State needs to control this big time. They need to say... Open ID's anyone can go (just not DA's) after this date. Then US Soccer needs to say.. Open DA ID's are open for such and such date. In BLACK AND WHITE. Rules are rules.
The GA Alliance is gone. So everyone should be on the same level. Maybe a rule tweak with Atlanta United. Maybe they can have one on a different date but other than that they should all be equal.

Because some CF parents told me that they were not given permission either

Its really a bad ugly system we have right now. I expect it to get worse as DA girls matures and Boys ecnl matures and expands.
Communication is garbage and loyalty to kids that the club as developed since 7 years old is meaningless. And honestly, in terms of making rosters, I don't expect clubs to be loyal ---- HOWEVER, I do expect them to be honest and have an open and honest communication with families prior to running them through the ringer, especially the ones that have been loyal and been with you for years.
Clubs are just playing a game with parents, and you wonder why soccer parents are so freaking crazy......

SoccerMom- that is correct. CF said no (not to AtlUtd) as well. I heard that the DOC's had a spoken agreement at the beginning of the season to when they would have ID sessions. All would have it at the same time. UFA broke that agreement.
Soccerhouse- Yeah I agree. I know our coach is being very open. Saying I would like you to come to Concorde's for the first day but you might want to look at other options or already securing roster spots. However, ones that not selected for DA do have the ECNL option as well. So those on the bubble for DA do have other choices. CRAZY times

However, ones that not selected for DA do have the ECNL option as well. So those on the bubble for DA do have other choices. CRAZY times That is incorrect, a very good friend was involved and he says the agreement was for when they would have actual tryouts which was agreed upon this time last year by all clubs except AU. Since tryouts haven't occurred, I don't see how UFA broke that agreement. The agreement was for everyone other than AU to have their tryouts the same week as the U8-U13 Academy tryouts the week of the 29/30th of May. Last year most of the lads had to attend the DA tryouts in the late morning and then rest up and then make their way to the regular academy tryouts in the late afternoon, early evening. Which in my opinion is crazy. UFA did ask to see about having a tri-tryout period. The format would have given kids a chance to move on to the next rung of the hierarchy of soccer if they weren't successful. So AU would have theirs the week of May 15th and then based on those results, those who didn't make it would attend one of the other 6 club DA tryouts the week of the May 22nd. Then finally those who didn't make any DA team would know they had to try for their top teams in Academy. Of course UFA was reminded of the agreement a year ago so that was scrapped. But I agree with Soccerhouse that we are in the ugly season because everything is so new. Hopefully in the next season or two things will settle down and we'll have a more formalized process in place.

Yeah I heard different. I heard it was ID sessions. When he was called out on it he played dumb and said "oh i thought is was for the DA tryouts" when good and well it was for ID sessions. again thats what i heard.

There are two sides to every story.... All 3 clubs discussed when their ID camps would be and knew before they were made public. And on that same note, one club scheduled a scrimmage at the same time and another a practice

I think 4 players from Concordes 04 team made atlanta united. 2 keepers, centerback and forward.
Looks like a couple of keeper spots just got open

I heard they signed some kids from Tennessee. Not sure of age. I think an 04 from Savannah as well. No clue if valid. You never know on the soccer grapevine.

I heard last year they used some fancy video system to also identify and evaluate players from tryouts. Clearly it didn't' work....

Anyone know what time the Concorde DA tryouts will be? I assume they'll be during the day on June 6, 7, and 8 but don't see a time posted anywhere.

These are the current U12 DA players I was under the impression there was only one 2004 and one 2005 goalkeeper, where did the other 2004 goalkeeper come from?

That's interesting, I wonder what will come of the two current 2004 GKs. Guess they may have to start looking for new clubs. Also, what are the rules in regards to GKs? Do they each get half a game or does the 25% start rule kick in, or do they just have a top GK and a backup? Curious as to what AU and the other DA clubs plan to do...

Not sure. The may move one 04 up to 03 and keep the other 04. The 05 will play 05.
Most DA's will do 50/50 split. alternating games. they wont want to use a sub for a goalkeeper.
No sure what AU will do.

Always odd to me that new players have been told they have made some of these rosters before current players have been notified.
I see this all the time at every level. Happens all the time on the girls side. New player shows up and is offered a spot and is told she made the team even before the top 5 returning players.
