I guess that ends that. Any hope that these clubs would stop and return to Georgia Soccer and US Youth Soccer is now dead.
We move on.

I’ll allow soccermom to tell you her answer to this . But remember two things : 1. Way back , I told people here the DA/ECNL clubs would lose one . I was told I was wrong . Now people are saying “Everyone knows that “. I was correct then. 2. Next , around late November I told people of thenew league coming . No one thought much of it . Now , everyone is an expert and says “it’s no secret”. I was right there also. 3. Then , I told everyone AFU would be allowed to keep ECNL and join the Piedmont League. At first ,the expert crowd here said I was wrong . But now , the experts here say “That’s no secret , BUT , it’s only for one year .... Again, things I said a month ago and ridiculed for came true . 4. So here were are at number FOUR on my list of predictions . I will say it one more time and then I’m done until we have this discussion again next year :AFU will keep ECNL and KEEP their membership in Pioneer League and NL. But , listen to soccermom if you choose. According to the Waiver Policy document on the Georgia Soccer website, Georgia Soccer will require AFU to sign a contract by May 20, 2018 the would prohibit them from participating in ECNL, a U.S. Club Soccer league, starting in Fall 2019: www.georgiasoccer.org/FileDownload.aspx?D=Xk7a2b2hlrNnkX3vIxpT8LBA3Pm599LaeJfuByBxi5M=If Georgia Soccer requires other clubs such as AFC Lightning to do the same, giving up NPL, and then turns around and allows AFU to keep ECNL but also participate in NL/NLPC, I predict that US Youth Soccer would strike down Georgia Soccer's National League Selection Criteria and Team Continuity Policy as unenforceable due to their selective enforcement showing their bias. So they are just going to renew this over and over? That seems crazy? If they don't, either ECNL teams only get half a season next year or there is no options for the second tiered teams at AFU?

"If not, that means either the ECNL teams don't get to participant in the second half of their season next year or there is no Piedmont League/NL Spring 2019 for them just like the other clubs?"
It says Fall 2019.
But more importantly...its almost like GA soccer is asking AFU to make a good-faith contract to drop ECNL by fall 2019 and if they do they will be allowed to play in NL during the 2018-2019 season. Strange that AFU would sign anything with that inference.

Friend's daughter team just got an email from Hoover Vacuum and she showed it to me at carpool. It confirms all the things that were said on this forum. One thing that is glaringly missing is what the plan is for next year 2019/2020 I did notice they would now start filming all games from rec all the way to ECNL and everything in between. Not sure if that is an AFU thing now or an ECNL move.

Not that I am wondering if there are more specific details. I am more of a Dyson fan anyway.

were you referring to this: www.atlantaunitedsoccer.com/Default.aspx?tabid=347819A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT Dear AFU Family Members, I want to inform everyone of AFU’s future direction, along with all of the upcoming additions and changes to our soccer programs next season. These additions will be a tremendous benefit for all of our members, beginning with our recreational program and funneling all the way through our Academy, Select, National League, and ECNL League. First and foremost, AFU teams are eligible and will be participating in Georgia Soccer’s National League Program. The National League is the new name for the past Region SPL League. AFU will be in the Piedmont region and will play teams from South and North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama. Our furthest drive should be no more than 2 ½ hours to Greenville, S.C. We look forward to participating in the National League Program and will support Georgia Soccer to make this one of the top programs in the Southeast Piedmont Region. Starting with the new fall season, we will be filming ECNL, National League, Academy, Select, and Recreational games. We will be using the filming of these games for the older age group teams in order to make college recruiting tapes of players for college recruiting purposes. With the new software, we will also be able to perform video analysis of our players. The younger age groups will have games filmed and will have the plays of the week posted on the AFU website for families and friends to see. Also, within the rec division, we will be adding Soccer Genius, which is a new Speed and Agility dribbling and shooting program, a new goalie program, a new rec skills program on Friday evenings, a Spring and Fall All-Star game, along with a weekly skills pull-out session performed by one of AFU’s Directors, ECNL coaches, or Elite coaches. We will be using a new training software within the Academy, Select, National League, and ECNL divisions. This software will allow our directors to forward weekly video training sessions to our coaches in order to better train with their teams. The training videos will be emailed to the players on the teams, so they can also view them better understand the drills before practice. This should make for a more efficient, successful, and progressive practice for all players. In closing, AFU will be participating in the new National league this upcoming fall season 2018. Our AFU family is extremely excited about our upcoming changes and I look forward to seeing all of you on the fields. Thank You, Greg Hoover President-Atlanta Fire United SA

Yessir, that is the email letter I speak of. Based on what I read, it says nothing except 1. They will be in NL/Piedmont League for 2018-2019 (nothing was said or promised about after that). 2. They will be filming games for everyone and highlighting plays of the week and helping to make recruiting videos. (A nice service for select and ECNL and feel good and nice service for Rec) 3. They will be improving their rec program with better coaching protocols and an All-star game. 4. Some increased organization in coaching policy Did I miss something?

Not a peep about next year(2019/20), unless they are going to keep renewing the yearly waiver agreement with Georgia Soccer
