The U13 Winner of Classic 1 Loses to 12th place Team in State Cup Play In Game
OK for the record PPA KSA 05B Premier - CL I still has to beat Concorde North to win Classic 1 but it's a near lock.
So how does a team that has gone 9-2-1 lose to a team that went 2-9-1. Pretty simple. For play in games for State cup your roster is set and you can only use players that will play on your team (not another). The rosters are set in stone. For KSA this means that at least 7 players they have been playing all Spring were not able to play during the Play In game, because during State Cup they will be playing with their regular team.
Those players consist of at least 3 that play on the 05 GA Storm Red - Gomez team that currently plays in RPL. And at least 4 that play on KSA's 04 National League team (the players are 05's playing up).
So 64% of the kids that helped PPA KSA 05B Premier - CL I win Classic 1 and likely advance to National League next year will not likely play with them next year. I have to assume that they are gambling that by getting promoted they will be able to draw in additional kids to their club. Otherwise they are going to be in trouble and likely bounced back to Classic 1 next year.
In the Fall, before they chose to play the GA Storm and National League players the team went 2-6-1.
It appears that winning, by bringing in kids that are on another team, is more important than developing the kids that are already on the team. That, to me, is one glaring example of what is wrong in youth sports. Winning at all costs regardless of how it impacts the kids the game is supposed to be about.

I completely agree with you. That is a poor example to set for kids.

This should be pretty simple. Every player has a GA soccer player ID number. Each of those SHOULD be tied to a birth certificate. A single birth certificate should not exist for more than 1 player ID number. A player should not be allowed to play up more than 2 games before becoming a non-transferable "part" of a select team.
There should be stringent rules covering this stuff. Same goes for ECNL players playing in GA soccer leagues. You play US Club... you can't play in GA soccer sanctioned games.

What they are doing, playing the players off of another team that is RPL and players from the National league team, is not illegal under GA Soccer. So technically they are not doing anything illegal. It should be banned but for now is not.

BK at KSA has been doing this for years, always brings in new kids for State Cup.

We played this team in the spring and the fall and they were two completely different teams. Three players had the same jersey number and there is no way all of those kids are 05s. It was actually comical for them to be passed off at such😉

This is the stuff the federation and the state can figure out a way to solve, yet they don't.

I actually believe the kids are 05's. Can't prove it one way or another, but there are some big ones. Especially the GA Storm big kid they bring in. (Really good player and a good kid from what I can see).
Funny seeing the GA Storm coach on the KSA Coaches sideline. Guess he drives the players from Carrolton into the game.
The u13 GA Soccer Age Coordinator also happens to be the team manager for the GA Storm team.

Didn’t KSA win 2-3 state cups last year but had to forfeit every game at regionals due to ineligible players?

Or, how they hand out jerseys to their players on the field before each game and then collect the jerseys back after the game. Yep, not shady at all.🙄

My youngest played KSA in an Academy game this past spring. My oldest told me he remembers playing 3 of the kids a few years ago. And my kids are 2 years apart in age groups. I can only assume it’s an all win at all cost with this club. Does this also filter with all the PPA locations in ALL IN, KSA, Storm?

I guess its security issue, since affinity system doesn't require a birth certificate to be entered in the system for each player? In ~ 8 years at our club now, they never have once actually checked a birth certificate. We collect them to be safe and used to keep them in team mangers handbook, but that's all.
Is the suggestion that they are rostering "fake" kids or tweaking birth dates.

1)Would be a bit of fun karma be if the KSA/North game gets rained out Tuesday night and need to be rescheduled to next weekend(neither KSA nor North are now in State Cup after play-in losses) when those Storm players are playing with their actual team. Both teams should be available those dates!
2)Shall be interesting to see how GA plays the roster continuity rule here for promotion(11). Suspect there will be some manipulation to meet that criteria or it won't be applied.

Is the suggestion that they are rostering "fake" kids or tweaking birth dates. Not from me. I don't know enough to make that claim though it has been said numerous times. My issue is that by them pulling kids from another team (GA Storm) and playing players down from their 04 National League team, they are doing a dis-service to the kids that have been on the team since August 2017. Those kids are either playing less or being bumped down to a lower team. All in the name of winning and trying to qualify for a NL spot, which they will lose unless they bring in a ton of kids. Per GA Soccer rules you can Club Pass 3 players. They do that with GA Storm players. Just wonder how the 04 NL team players (who are 05's) are rostered? My guess is that in August 2017 they were rostered with 04's but were moved in January 2018 to 05 KSA team. This way they can have the 7 players play but only have to club pass 3 of them.

If they could not beat Concorde South without additional players, doubt they would have any luck against Concorde North with original team. Game is a KSA home game so no chance that it gets cancelled.

This issue of fudged birth records even reared it's ugly head within DA. Now for the record USSF actually makes the team administrator upload copies of birth records to register kids. Well this one player submitted what the federation considered not so clean records. Yada, yada, yada, he's no longer with AU and ironically returned to the training grounds with KSA this weekend to partake in the College ID Camp games.

They are the three teams that would finish 1st, 2nd and 3rd. They get bumped down a spot which may or may not affect promotion spots. Any below that and really doesn't change much.

The guy who runs KSA has always prioritized winning over development because he is trying to make a living from youth soccer. To keep attracting new customers to his business, he has to win. He doesn't attract new customers by developing one player who will leave him for a larger club. He also recruits like crazy and I've experienced his recruitment of players personally. When youth club soccer becomes a business, the interests of the players are second to the interests of the club. If you want to make a living from youth soccer and develop players, you have to work for a DA program, preferably a MLS team's DA program. Those programs have a financial interest in developing players. But to make a living from KSA, you have to continually win to attract new customers and to keep the money flowing.
This is mild compared to some of the things I've heard BK accused of. As far as players playing in the wrong age groups or using fudged birth certificates, I'm sure this happens. However, a lot of the immigrant players at KSA may not actually know their actual birth date and are using the date assigned to them when they were processed by immigration into the United States. And I don't believe clubs are required to upload birth certificates into the Affinity System because of online security issues. If Affinity got hacked and those birth certificates were stolen, that would cause major problems for all involved. Rather, clubs are supposed to check birth certificates and make sure players are playing for the correct age groups. I think most clubs do that. Others, not so much.

Not to just pile on KSA, all the mega clubs in this city are being ran like a business - its about the $$$$$.
One thing controversial in the past I've heard about KSA is the inconsistencies in aid and who does and doesn't pay to play. But it seems like KSA has found and in with certain demographics that probably otherwise would not be able to afford youth club soccer.

Or what about a coach who doesn't disclose financial obligations to his families and ask for money to scholarship good players he finds in the community and then benches the kids whose families are paying for the scholarship kids. Trust me I personally know a lot more but I'll leave it at that.

Typical for BR and Ga Soccer AGCs. Everyone is talking about how GA Soccer has it out for the big clubs but in reality GA Soccer has it out for the smaller clubs that don’t have “volunteer” positions within GA Soccer as well We are at one of the small clubs and to be honest we’ve had it with the bias over at GA Soccer- planning on leaving our small club to play at a big 5 club that’s moved its team out of the GA soccer mess. The KSA/GA storm team and the way that the AGC of that age group are trying to pull this s#*^ over everyone’s head is causing even more damage within the GA Soccer/USYS system. Kind of ironic since all of these clubs supposedly banded together to sanction the big 5 and now one of the so called leaders is stabbing everyone in the back. What a joke!!
