Bet GA Soccer is contacting the Big 5 asking for turf fields
UFA could host the whole tournament with all their fields.

Big 5 starts SCCL because RPL was grossly mismanaged, GA Soccer declares Big 5 are no longer eligible to play NL and RPL, now GA Soccer wants the Big 5 to help secure fields for State Cup.

Won't it also be challenging to find referees?

Won't it also be challenging to find referees? Referees are set, and Im sure they rather not travel to Columbus either. They were told today that their assignments may get moved.

Lakepoint has a basketball and baseball tournament this weekend so if they add soccer they won’t have all the fields to use.

I only asked because - if the referees are mostly based in Columbus area - it may be difficult to get them all up here, find hotel rooms, etc. Not clear how that works for the refs. Sure seems like a huge task to move everything here so last minute! It might have been better had TPTB started working on a plan B a little earlier in the week?

Most referees are probably from metro Atlanta and not Columbus. With the majority of teams participating in SC also being from metro Atlanta, hotels won't be as difficult either.

In Cobb County, Mud Creek (3 fields) and Hubert (4 fields) were just turfed this spring and are ready to roll. Add in 3 at Franklin Gateway and the HS fields ( 2 each at Walton, Kell, Pope, Harrison, McEachern, Hillgrove, 3 at Lassiter), we could have a Cobb County State Cup. That would be awesome.

The last thing you want is all spread out like that, its not ideal for college coaches coming to watch.

Keep the age groups / genders together. Would work just fine for college coaches.

Think the last thing you would want is to cancel state cup altogether or decide winners based on kicks from the mark. Lakepoint would be ideal if available, but if not, multiple turf venues around metro atl. area would be better than not getting to play actual games. How many turf fields does Fowler have? Think sharon springs has 3, Lanier land has a couple. Hosting it in cumming may not be a bad option if ufa agrees. Or maybe alpharetta and Roswell. North park, kings ridge, Webb bridge, east Roswell park all have turf fields.

Matt Park has 2 as well. Is that all of them?

To match Woodruff, it would take 11 fields?
