We already have indoor practice scheduled all week. The forecast does not look good for a while!

Enjoyed the article, especially about trying to develop individual talents on a team.

Great interview; very informative. I was following the Silverbacks closely during the season he coached, especially remembered that Open Cup game in Colorado with all the red cards.

Any one know about any other mergers in the ATL metro area? I've been hearing some chatter around at practices so wanted to know if any one has heard anything else?

J4K- do you know anything about the beach soccer camp that's part of the link you posted?

I always start thinking about camps once March approaches. Unfortunately, we have been let down several times with the quality of some camps in the metro Atlanta area so any suggestions for high-level camps for an Academy-aged kid would be much appreciated!

He was always fun to watch and, at times, the only player hustling out on the field! I'm excited to see the "new-look" Silverbacks; hope they're able to get some good players.

Just for a quick response:
1. Predator 2. Mundial 3. Copa
These are the orders for level. Blue refers to SSA central, which are usually the strongest teams. Black plays out of Kennesaw and also have some strong teams. The rest of the colors refer to other locations.

It is SSA Roswell but they also run youth and adult leagues and various training programs. We don't do academy there but my kid has done several training sessions and camps with them and always had a great time. The two guys that run it are from England and have lots of experience with youth soccer here in the U.S and abroad.

Didn't he move last year from Italy to the MLS? I don't know if this has anything to do with it but watching him the other night gave me nightmare flashbacks from this summer when I saw him live at the World Cup- where about 90% of his passes were given to the other team which seemed to always end up in counter attacking opportunities.

Love when the CL games start to break up the soccer drought during the week. Can't wait to watch my beloved Chelsea! Arsenal looked really uninspired yesterday against Dortmund.

our current u11s showed well. we have 7 2003's on the u11 roster (10 total rostered). 6 of the 7 made ODP. very impressive. Wow, those are some impressive numbers! u11 Boys or girls?

The ODP Tryout results seemed to be the talk of practice tonight. My kid is a couple of years away from the process but I admit to being a little discouraged after hearing that some really (what I thought were) top players did not make it. I guess I am perplexed by the whole process knowing that these kids play almost year round and seem to be at the top of their age group. For those that have been through the process or participated in it, are there any characteristics of players that make it that stick out to you? Also, the rumor seems to be that no defensive players are picked, just attacking ones are selected. Is this true? And, if so, if my kid is more defensive-minded, should we not even pursue it?
