lol Soccerhouse... Its dirty and CF holds the bar of soap. They can wish to use it to clean things up or hold on to it and it keep getting dirtier. I'm just really upset. I'm sick and tired of the lack of communication from the club and the lack of best interest of the player. You can not run a business by not communicating to your customers. Last I looked, its the parents who keeps the club afloat. I think CF thinks they will have a strong hold by having the older DA's along with AtlUTD. So the choice will be only those two clubs. I get that and that most likely will be the case. Unless... more clubs will be awarded those age groups in the future (which very well could happen). From what I have seen in the younger age groups, its the coaches who are bringing in the talent. Not so much the club. If only two coaches in the north decided to go somewhere else the whole north program would crumble. What does that say about your "program". Its says NO PROGRAM. What is the clubs mission, what the the foundation, what is the path?? Its all down to the coach. Like chelsea14 said "Every end of season has been the same...no communication on coaching changes, who will stay or go. All information is gleaned via rumor and other parents hearsay." Why play games? Be honest. Be transparent with the parents. Get organized CONCORDE! You could be great. If you are really this unhappy I suggest you change clubs. It's not worth the heartache you are obviously experiencing, after all it's only a game.

I understand what your saying OLDBOY and agree. Yes you want some good competition spread-out throughout the clubs. This is for sure the case at other MLS cities. Not sure how much that will help by awarding 8x U12 DA's with 2 teams right at the start. That's a lot of U12 players. The main issue I have is that the the club is not giving the opportunity at ALL. At the least tell the parents what is going on and why. This has already caused friction between Coach/Club/Parent. If you DO NOT communicate you will loose your top players. Also, heard a rumor that if you tryout for AtlUTD and do not make it that you will not be aloud back?? What is that all about if true. Anyways, I wouldn't be surprised if all the 04's don't go and try out. What will CF do then? Not let the ones that didnt make it back...lol Pretty stupid. I already heard that most if not all the North and Central CF 04's are going to try out. Let's not forget that AUFC in the guise of Mr Anan isn't overly Con Fire friendly and has already voiced his preference for GUSA kids. Possibly not all Con Fire fault. Add in that if the player is good enough to warrant serious consideration by the MLS DA they will get it.

Is there not some conflict of interest with TA being involved with GUSA and AUFC?

If we are to have a Brand New Club and a Brand New Academy you should have a Brand New Director, one who comes in with a fresh approach and sees the local talent with a totally Unbiased eye. TA is NOT that man

Perhaps he does, but it could also be the relationship with kids grandfather. Not looking for an argument the comment was made TA doesn't play favorites when in reality he is no different to any other soccer coach. To be honest I would have liked to see ATLUTD go outside of GA for their Youth Academy.

One of if not the best youth coaches I have ever seen. His training sessions are novel and challenge the kids mentally and physically. His drills always serve a purpose where kids get a chance to implement what they have learned and challenge one another. He expected a lot out of everyone and is tough, but tough in a good way. Kids don't get bored with a monotonous training regiment, he constantly is pushing the envelope with new drills and training techniques. He's a straight shooter, he's not going to tell you what you want to hear, but rather the truth. Doesn't play favorites regardless of who you are. He understands development at younger ages, doesn't even care what the score is. He surely will be missed in the local youth soccer community. He'll continue to impact many young kids soccer lives though just now more on the higher level. Sorry but have seen him play favorites with his younger DA teams, why else have a younger kid from AL on the team when there are better players in GA?

Been 6 times and thankful that this year we only have to go to Disney once and not at Thanksgiving . Worth it is very subjective but not sure the money and travel time, mainly coming home if you make it to the Finals, is really worth it.

The only negative I see in the is despite JD advocating for small sided games for young players is we still have U11 playing 11 v 11 and U12's playing at Select levels which goes against everything he has stood for and against what US Soccer is also advocating.

I'm not agreeing to anything. Prior to the 02's I was with the 97 Boys for four years, most of the boys returned every year unless they made DA teams, can't do DA and ODP. Clearly you have an agenda or an axe to grind, come right out and say why you think people are dissatisfied. Personally I am not a huge fan of ODP. Both my sons tried out multiple times and both were passed over in favor of other players. OK fair enough however when one son was told by the coach he hadn't been selected because he didn't pass the ball enough, he expects 15 passes before crossing the halfway line my jaw dropped. Since when in any sport has the object of the game been to spend as much time in your own half of the field as possible. We all understand and want teams to play possession and for players to be confident on the ball but would a football coach say to his team we are going to run every play and never pass the ball because we may lose it? My son had two of his team mates make ODP and both are now on Cl IV teams and have never progressed, whilst he has been offered 2 options to play and is on an SRPL team and has been for a few years now. I could go on but to be honest the whole ODP cycle appears if not broken then at least tainted. If it works for some players great however I don't see it as the potential goldmine for soccer development.

Based on Fall standings they will decide SC seedings correct? How are the teams split up? 1 5 2 6 3 7 4 8 or 1 8 2 7 3 6 4 5 Little bit more complicated there are 4 groups, top 4 teams (I am assuming you have never been to SC so there are no PLE or RPL teams to worry about). These are the top 4 in Athena A / Classic 1 the groups then break down to 1 8 9 16 2 7 10 15 3 6 11 14 4 5 12 13 Depending on how many teams apply for SC depends on how many Play In games there are. If the season ended today then SC would look like this Group 1 Group 2 Group 3 Group 4 TH GSA AFU UFA P NASA CFN SSA CFCent UFA Nor TH Navy Chiefs Red Star DSC GSA Red SAF Inter
Now if UFA Red, Santos & Ambush apply then they would play off against
GSA Red v Ambush (winner gets 14th seed) SAF v Santos (winner = 15th) Inter v UFA Red (Winner = 16th)
Whatever happens enjoy Columbus, yes it's a pain to drive to but the trip will be what you make it not what people tell you it's like.

Guys trust me you have a Loooong way to go from u11 (10 year olds)to playing competitive soccer. You may think you are the Top Team in the State of GA but remember not every club or team is putting all the supposedly best players consistently on the same team, the club academy level is supposed to develop the players. Some of the comments about needing to play 11 v 11 on a full size field make me hang my head in shame, small sided games with 16 players is much more beneficial to the player development, every country that is experiencing success at the International level is doing the exact opposite of what is being touted here. Come U12 there may be some teams (Very few in my opinion),that have some potential to play in the Classic/Athena ranks however if you can't hang with the top bracket why even bother? Classic 2/Athena B teams are not the level of competition you are looking for, much better to keep the teams to age appropriate and develop, how about your coach introducing rules into the game, whereby all attacking players much touch the ball before scoring>there are many ways to make a game challenging without thinking playing up is the answer. One other thing to consider is what happens to the Classic/Athena groups when you decide to drop down to age appropriate, how does this help anyones development?
