Wait a minute. Is this a Big 5 site or a Ga Soccer site, or a Soccer site? Because it seems to me that people discuss back in forth until anything associated with AFU shows up. So when 15 people talk good about a bigger club, that is "discussion", but when I make a few posts positive to AFU, then I must be the same person as every other pro-AFU post on here? This is pretty closed minded. This sounds like people are nervous about AFU getting stronger and want to use this board to trash them. Pretty closed minded and childish to me. Just talk soccer and leave personal jabs/put downs out of it.

sharks82.....have no clue what you are talking about there but let me say this: Futsal Gawdess, I find it funny that since there are now two branches of soccer being formed, the ones who are NL are the ones "griping", and the ones who are SCCL are the "normal ones"........ Hello afu, SOURCE, Big Dawg, wait sorry bluefedora. I can’t keep up with the continuous morphing of names, so I’ll collectively just refer to you as itsy bitsy 5 – ib5. I think that is an apropos name. ib5, I commend you for trying to start a productive and insightful debate about the state of SOCCER in Metro Atlanta. Which leads me to the obvious mention that this is a SOCCER forum, not a political one. ib5, if you re-read my comments that apparently got you a little hot under the collar, you will notice that I am not dismissing your thoughts, comments, justifications or concerns. However ib5, it does seem like those who are not in the Big 5 keep trying to consistently and annoyingly sell, sell, sell everyone on the demise of the clubs that have adopted the SCCL. The landscape of soccer in Georgia is changing and those changes now seem clear and obvious. What I’m suggesting is we have the information from ALL angles, let folks take it in and digest the information and make the decisions that best suit their kids and their families. We as parents should have one singular goal, which should be the full development of our kids. Once tryouts are done, we’ll all be locked in for another year and have to live with our decisions. For some it will work out and for others it won’t. But guess what ib5, unless you’re one of the DOCs at these clubs who fears the loss of $$$, it won’t be the end of the world. This time next year, one just has to look somewhere else for a home that better suits them. I wish everyone "Good Hunting" this tryout season. It is my ardent hope that we all make the right decision that positively affects and develops our babies.

Are you angry about something?
And more importantly: am I allowed to speak positive about AFU?
You let me know Mr. LSA if you grant me the right to

Futsal, don't be sensitive. I challenge you to find one post by me trashing/whining about SCCL, Big5, etc.....the only comment about SCCL was in response to some idiot making fun of a team that went 2-5 and making fun of an AFU team that finished 7th in Athena A--without having a clue about the circumstances under which that happened. So, take your self righteous attitude and go trash that guy or girl.
I don't speak for anyone who is Big5 vs "smaller" teams. I'm only here advocating for AFU---God knows there are plenty of friends on here from UFA sucking up to that train on a daily basis.
Y'all sound a little sensitive that ONE person is saying something good about AFU.
The only way to prove any of you all may be posting under the same name is to go into this forum and piece together private information needed in order to register. And that, my friend, is a violation of privacy. In order to do that, someone who runs this forum would have to commit that violation.
And that is what we call back home in Kentucky, a lawsuit.
All I want to do is be a member of this community and talk soccer without every one of my posts being ripped for being somebody else.

Once again a discussion for one club "Norcross Parent How Are You Feeling About SCCL?" evolves into a Atlanta Fire Discussion.
If anyone would like to discuss AFU feel free to start your own thread. Matter of fact I'm going to start one for you
If you were a member 60 days ago or sooner you would have experienced a different board. You would have had to insult someone's mother to have a serious disagreement.
For those of us who have been here a while, what is annoying is that the minute the SCCL was announced some folks apparently from smaller clubs went on the warpath against the Big 5. Much of it seems to try build a perception that SCCL will be a inferior league to anything under USYS has to offer. I'm assuming the goal is to either protect your players from leaving for a Big 5 club, or to try and pull players from a Big 5 club.
The reality is, by the splintering of leagues, all leagues including NL/RPL, Classic 1, NPL and PL will be weaker than they would be if all Georgia Clubs played in the same league. USYS, US Club Soccer and US Soccer don't care about the majority of us, as everything is all about the top 1% of players. The remaining 99% are simply a funding mechanism for their respective organization. So if you find yourself defending any of the three...stop. They don't care about you.
Heck the clubs are more local than they are and you're not even the top priority to them.

Once again a discussion for one club "Norcross Parent How Are You Feeling About SCCL?" evolves into a Atlanta Fire Discussion. Seriously, don't engage. You can't win against the ib5 coalition. You will get into this revolving circle of hell, that will take you nowhere. Walk away, man, don't do it.

I think the Atlanta Fire thread I started for them this afternoon has already been axed.

I know this is an old thread but I saw something posted that I’d like to add to. My daughter was on the AFU 05 NL team last season so we have limited knowledge on SCCL. Five members of that team switched to UFA Norcross for this year . Two that I know of went to another club and I assume the rest stayed.
Four members of a GSA team joined us as well. And then an ECNL player also came over to add to the SCCL team members who chose to stick it out at Norcross.
All I have to say is this: our groups who came over are excited for a fresh start (the roller coaster with the AFU leadership in relation to the 05 NL team is well documented so nothing to add there ).
For the Norcross players who stayed and parents I say this: let’s make this team the best it can be!!

All good kids. Wish them all the best. Wonder if AFU knows how close they came to losing 80% of that team. Life goes on
