It has been pro since she signed her Nike contract (including being in at least one ad for them). It has not been about College vs pro for well over a year. What I think is interesting is that she MIGHT have been better off to go college with the new ruling that she can make money off her image. After all she has at least 150,000 followers on IG Haven’t followed this very closely (obviously) but wish her well. I hope she has a good support system. One of the best female runners in the country several years ago blamed Nike and poor coaching for her leaving the sport. Hope this isn’t a repeat.

Yea, I brought this up early in the thread, given the NIL starting today, she probably could have probably built a larger fan base an following by going to college - unless he becomes the next mia hamm..... Word is many of the female college athletes have more social media followers than their male counterparts and will make a nice bit of extra coin. obviously the top football and bball players at the big schools will do pretty well, you have to assume the next great QB or point guard in college will be in the next state farm commercial with chris paul and jake.
I'll be intrigued to watch her for sure, to see the hype, but seriously doubt i'll watch consistently. I don't even know how to watch nwsl but If it's only on Paramount+, I won't be watching.

I have never seen her play. Is she that GREAT and extraordinary to be playing several levels above her age?

There are games on regular CBS as well. I don't know if you still watch regular TV or have satellite or cable, but if you do you can see some NWSL games there.

Surprised the teams in league hasn’t started claims on other young players just to do it.

Surprised the teams in league hasn’t started claims on other young players just to do it. If they do I hope it triggers lawsuits that lead to free agency for every athlete. Time to do away with the annual pro sports livestock sales that send athletes to teams they don’t really want to play for despite the implied privilege of “making it”.

First professional goal last night off a free kick. She had an assist a week or so ago. She seems to be settling in just fine.
