I don't understand: almost $400 more to play SCCL? How does UFA justify that?
U13-U14 Select: $380 SCCL $1,730 Premier (If NOT SCCL) $1,350
U15-U19 Select: $300 Premier - SCCL $1,500 Premier (If NOT SCCL) $1,200

That $1,495 price sounds right. Can't remember 100%.
I will say we got our money's worth this past year. The season does run longer than our Red Teams season. Also our coach put in a lot of extra time for practices with the season running through mid-December, Disney and extra scrimmages. When the Concorde tournament was cancelled for weather we played three scrimmage games that weekend against other teams that were in the tournament.
Even if last year would have been $1,700 we would have got our money's worth.

If you factor in HS dues it’s actually more $ per year. Not just a UFA thing either.

Norcross historically has done a good job trying to keep fees down. I'm not quite seeing why there would be such an increase in fees. SCCL even at u13/u14 is no different than any other top level team previously in terms of commitment.

I have a question that is sort of off topic but the answer would be good for everyone to know. When are clubs allowed to start recruiting other clubs players openly?

Different leagues have different rules. And you’re pretty free to recruit at any time if the player you’re targeting comes from a team competing in a different league. True... I somehow forgot about the whole US Club vs Ga soccer thing. But what if they are only in academy age?

Do you mean recruitment or the player showing "interest" in another club? I believe officially with Georgia Soccer, you could begin recruitment 14 days before tryouts or the Tuesday following Memorial Day. This would cover Academy and Select players. Historically, May 1st was usually the unofficial kick-off to recruitment shenanigans. State Cup was notorious in the past for recruitment. For DA it is usually after your last game, unless your last game is after the tryout period.

I couldn't remember so instead of racking my brain I just thought I'd toss out the question.

Since the big clubs are no longer paying fees to GA Soccer, I don't think they have to abide by their "Recruiting Rules"

The fact that the top academy teams in the state are not even playing in the same league and paying over $2G's to do so is asinine. JMO of course.
Im sure our club will have some inflation, but would be shocked of they threw out these ridiculous numbers.

Sounds like US Club Soccer and clubs are pocketing some extra cash. There is no difference between a u13 SCCL and a regular u13 game. Both require refs and a field.

Wow. Those prices are higher then Tophat. Hopefully there will not be any increase of this sort at Tophat. Not only are they waiting to announce coaches I don't see the cost on the website. Getting to the point where you need to take a 2 mortgage out to pay for club soccer. Might be cheaper to use that money to buy her way on to a college team.

Maybe that is the big announcement from UFA -- YOUR FEES ARE INCREASING!!! The problem is there are 125 kids in each age group lined up to pay this money! Unfortunately that really isn't much of an increase. Was about the same last year...

If you factor in HS dues it’s actually more $ per year. Not just a UFA thing either. I think both are interesting questions. Why SCCL at a few clubs is more expensive than Athena/Classic? Why the U15 and up cost is only 300-400 less especially for higher level teams? One explanation that I wonder might have something to do with this...higher level, more experienced (and thus more expensive) coaches for the older and higher level teams?? I am not stating that...I am asking whether this could be an explanation. As an aside...Forsyth prices went up a lot last year. This year is essentially the same (within about 100 give or take). Why did they go up so much? GDA? Scholarships? We have discussed the pay to play model and how the highest teams should be essentially free or reduced rates or blind to financial circumstances or however you want to present it...is this why the costs went up for the "regular" players? Does anyone actually know? Could it have been because of the field rentals at Fowler, Matt, Lanierland? Any info would be appreciated...
