Interesting thread to be sure. My perception is that FG is basically loyal to UFA (to a fault).  Lets not bring the coach back into this, there has already been a thread about that. Besides, if that was a problem, it should have been on the UFA leadership to address it. The Hatters always get richer. It will be interesting this week to see the fallout of the ECNL/DPL situation in tryouts though. |

I heard there is a current 05 girls team that has recently undergone some drama at their current club.
The core of that team supposedly is trying out at UFA Norcross for that SCCL1 spot.
The Norcross girls won only 1 game last fall but thevcore of the team who may tryout at Norcross had a winning record and a very good defense and great keeper. Could an sccl1 team turn it around in one just one year with 8-10 better players ?
Is this wise for that team to leave the known for the challenges of making a 1 win team better ?

It would not be the first time or the last time a group of players all tried out somewhere together.
Despite what you might have read on this post so far regarding Norcross.
I personally have nothing but respect for UFA Norcross the club, the coaches, the directors, the players, and the parents. I also have nothing but respect for SCCL the league.
(Full disclosure, I also have nothing but respect for several other clubs, coaches, players and parents in SCCL including clubs like Concorde, TopHat that often get lots of negative forum attention)
Clearly if "they" are asking about or putting it out there that they want to leave why wouldn't it be wise for them to do so? Should they stay and be miserable for another season? The way pay to play is set-up you only have the option to leave in May anyway.
I think the current club deserves a respectful conversation (if I had to guess - I would guess this is an AFU 05 team - if so them it sounds like the conversations have already occured with club management) .
Regarding Challenges: Well distance wise if it is AFU its not like Norcross is the ends of the earth its five minutes away from Scott Hudgens. If they go try out and like the coach and the coach likes them ... And as far as making a one win team better ...
Well ultimately doesn't every team want to improve year to year. Every team should have new goals every year. Even if everyone is returning.

This is an interesting season for sure i have heard of two different teams leaving their clubs (coach included) and ending up at other clubs.

I assume talking about AFU 05 Elite girls trying out elsewhere, not a surprise based on the reactions here. If UFA 05 DA is poaching some of the AFU 05 ECNL girls, going to SCCL would be a step down from the potentially open ECNL spots.

After hearing about it here on the forum, I asked around... nobody I knew saw any AFU ECNL players at DA tryouts that they recognized. |

It says something if most of the same team followed him from Concorde North to NTH Milton and now to UFA Forsyth, IMHO that is a HUGE compliment from parents and players who believe in him. I suspect something is not right at NTH Milton, why would this coach that MG took as part of his entourage from Concorde to NTH leave in one year? Can someone from NTH Milton chip in? |

You know the best stories are the ones that cannot be fully told... |

I heard from someone that some of the teams were changing practice locations and they lost kids Many practice locations changed due to the makeup of new kids / teams formed because of the change in ECNL coaches. RA also brought some kids from Concorde... but other boys coaches also lost their teams. Not sure why... |
