First of all, shameful performance by AU last night.
That being said, you guys are killing Carleton for a mistake. Not saying he doesn’t have maturity issues, I’m sure he does. He’s 18!
I personally experienced on a business trip to Israel a senior exec for HP got to hartsfield and forgot his passport. This is a 50 year old man making well into six figures.
Ryan Braun just recently did the same thing in MLB. Happened a couple months ago on lpga tour. Same with NBA. Sometimes people do stupid things or just make a mistake.

I fell asleep. Sounds like a good 2nd half!! Agree with soccermom - club seems to be sending mix messages about and to Carleton. Very very odd situation - unless the coach sees rostering a kid and then not playing him as a punishment. Players out, injured... might have been rostered as a necessity. (Although I think Wild should have been in that spot instead.) “out of necessity...” Hey, we survived Montreal with a short bench thanks to AC. In this case, they could’ve pulled another player into the mix since they knew in advance. Either punish him or don’t. The way they’ve handled it, they’ve sent the worst possible message to a kid who already seems to be struggling with maturity and entitlement issues.

I understand you are giving you own perspective on the game and maybe folks here are being a tad bit harsh. However, I respectfully disagree with the comment that folks are "killing" him. It is my belief that folks locally feel a connection to him, having watched him grow and develop. Taken within context, i think the backlash is warranted because folks actually do want him to succeed. So here is what we know. First off he's 19. Secondly, he's already messed up with one coach(Tata), so much so he missed out on what could arguably be the biggest celebration in his career, especially as a local product. Bring in new coach and in less than 2 months into the season, the coach is publicly calling you out on behavior and attitude about your chosen craft. You get left off the U20 WC Squad. I would think at this point, you put your head down, grind things out by dotting your "i" and crossing your "t" in the hopes that you get back on your coaches good side. Bringing up examples of others who have forgotten their passports is inconsequential. It's the totality of his actions that concerns folks, because it keeps trending in the wrong direction. Again, it is my hope that he cleans up his image publicly and physically and gets back on the right side of things. Deep down I think we all want him to succeed and not blow this opportunity.

I can’t attest to his maturity or professionalism. We have been watching him for years and my son used to play in the age group below and used to stay extra at UFA games to watch him play. I have not been impressed the past few times I’ve seen him. Either needs to figure something out to improve his game, or maybe he just stopped growing and improving. Sometimes players look great when they’re younger and they’re not so much as they get older. He should be on the midfield and not a winger.

I could be wrong, but I don't think players can play in multiple home grown games. Interesting tweet about him missing the 18 last night though --

Real Madrid just loaned out Luca Zidane --not comparing Atlanta United to Real, but we are a copycat soccer society...
