I see that someone from TH started a on-line petition to get TH accepted back into ECNL. I must say that it is very well-written and if I was a stranger and read this and didn't know how this all went down, I would fall for the okie-doke and be all upset for them. They even left out the part about how ECNL gave them the opportunity to join before DA folded and TH told them "NO". Well written and I understand it from a players perspective... but this is about business. This isn't about the players or their parents. Listen, my kids have friends that play for NTH, I am friends with their parents and others with kids on their teams. My heart goes out to them. They were caught up in a business move that unfortunately effects them through no fault of their own.
That said, again... it is a business first. What the NTH brass did by leaving ECNL and then openly talked down to it, makes the decision of not including them also understandable. Take any other business, and do what NTH did, and you think they will treated any differently?
Would you bring back a partner in your business that left you to survive on your own when a competitor stole him away, then talk bad about your company... only to have him come knocking on your door to demand you bring him back? ...and only because his own venture went "south"?
It sucks for the players and parents... but there ARE options out there for them to play against the best competition... it just won't be at NTH this year.

For years tophat can’t get ecnl.
They finially get let in, and jump to leave at first chance when told to make a decision. They should have gone all in 2 years ago with ecnl.
Girls DA was doomed from the start....
But I also thought boys DA was doomed from the start - and look boys ecnl is now king (from an organized league from top to bottom)

It also doesn't include how TH really had some not-so-nice things to say about ECNL. (I'm hearing that it was worse than talking about someone's mother) I'll be the first to admit that you can find individuals at all of the clubs in Atlanta that are pure jerks and not good people but the "ones" over at TH take it to another level. |

And BTW, this is obviously not going anywhere. The White House isn't going to spend one freaking second worried about a soccer club whining. The b*lls on TH to even think they deserve it because they are , well, TH, after all. Someone needs to rite a 2nd petition explaining why they should NOT be let in. They made a choice with DA. They made the wrong choice. That's America-learn from your past mistakes. This is hilarious. |

I think it’s interesting that so many say it’s not the fault of the players but yet are bashing what is obviously a player-written petition. This very clearly was written by an articulate teenage girl or girls who just want to play with their teammates. Bash the organization all you want but really, I don’t see what you are accomplishing by belittling the efforts of girls who don’t know how else to react.

I could almost sympathize with the points that were made. It was articulated well, BUT...you lost me when they kept inserting, the "Best Players and the Best Club," in every other sentence and I that we should want them to be in our league. I am always up for good competition. But have some humility..don't just expect things should automatically happen for you, just because you are TOPHAT.

I would say start a Go FUND Me page to buy TG out of his contract, because, sadly, that might be the only way NTH ever returns to the ECNL. Unfortunate for the girls that their TH teams won't be in ECNL this year or anytime soon. If they want to play ECNL all they have to do is get their parents to take them to one of the other ECNL clubs in the area and beat someone out for a position. Last time I checked Concorde has some pretty good ECNL teams, GSA won a National Championship and had a runner up last year as well. Go beat those kids out and quit whining.
The other unfortunate thing is what TG has done to an incredible club. Guess nobody knew how important Jerome really was.......

Some girls had already made arrangements to leave but TG told girls that he had talked to certain big-named schools about the them and that if they left TH, the schools wouldn't know where to find them......and people actually fell for it . I promise you I can't make this stuff up. |

Surely no one would fall for the part about the schools... Also, they're not in DA anymore, these players can go tryout with other coaches/clubs without having to give any notification or get permission. That was a garbage part of DA IMO. |

I see nothing wrong with these girls wanting to stay where they are because for whatever reason, they like it. There’s a lot of commentary that the reason players went to TH was because of DA. Clearly, if that was true, players would just leave for greener pastures and not start petitions. |

TH Win % against UFA would be 100% (as it has been over the last 3 years); AFU would be 100%; GSA - 90%; CF - would be a good series - 65%

Only team having a chance at playing those teams are CF... The rest of those teams can be happy their in the same league. Would all be relegated to 2nd and 3rd tier in ECNL tiered clubs. |

This is a free country and they can go fight for a spot at another ECNL team if they want to. The issue is that very few people WANT to leave their club where their teammates are and where they have relationships with coaches, etc. We talk about the coach and the team being more important than the league and now these kids are being forced to choose between the two at a sensitive point in their soccer careers. My kids don't play at Tophat. I have met good and not so nice people from that club. At this point I have no skin in this game. I think people should not be so vindictive towards a club that has minors as participants. |
