To all Tophat Parents and Kids (I am one of them) Please stop. We will not be getting ECNL now and possibly the near future, no matter how many signatures and complaints we lobby or facts we present. (Trust me, I tried) Unfortunately the leaders at Tophat took a gamble doubled down and lost. If you are a Tophat defender stay with what we have, fight and make it the best possible league and see what happens. (No matter what happens there will be haters) If you are not happy with what happened find a club that has what you want and fight for a spot on that said team. (There a numerous team's in Atlanta that love Tophat players) I wish you the best of luck, Tophat will be here to collect your money if you want to come back. To the parents who are struggling remember a few things. 1) Why did you join the club in the first place. If it was for The shiny new league, then we don't have it anymore the other 5 clubs in Atlanta have it, go to it. 2) if you came to Tophat for the reputation of the club. Stay, they haven't lost it. 3) if you came because you like the coach and the players on your team. Need to make some calls to those families and make the decision on what you will do. 4) if you are at Tophat for the love of the game. Decide if they are growing that love. 5) remember that Tophat didn't have ECNL before and survived. You need to decide if they will rise again. (6) Tophat will not get ECNL. Make you decision on what is best for you and your child and go get it. The b*t&hing and whining here won't make a difference. As for me, I will gamble and put all my chips in that Tophat will rise again (We will hope and pray) Amen. Couldnt say it better myself. Doing what is best for your child is what it is all about. We personnally have two at different clubs (TH and UFA) and we have had to look at each differently and thus in each of their best interest have them at different clubs. Parents here on the forum I think at times forget this.

Sorry but SCCL is a well marketed joke. Maybe NTH should dump US Club, and invest in the MLS/USYS new partnership instead by joining the National League.

My money is on TH coming out of this just fine in a couple years. It’s not like that club hasn’t faced adversity in past. I might be wrong, but so might those who disagree with me.

At least we have found a better name for the SCCL. The WMJL.

Is it fair to compare this is AFU part 2? Atlanta Fire losing DA years back.

Maybe NTH should dump US Club, and invest in the MLS/USYS new partnership instead by joining the National League. I believe in a club adapting to the changing times and landscape. But at a certain point you have to stand for something in lieu of falling or in this case chasing after everything. So let me see if I i'm able to follow the logic here. Are you saying that NTH should forever be chasing the shiny new (insert shiny league)? First NL, then ECNL, then DA, then DPL, then SCCL, recently GAL and now MLS/USYS 😱 BTW if memory serves me correctly I believe they turned down the MLS/USYS gig. Guess it's not shiny enough - yet. So if they go back to MLS/USYS like they did with ECNL and ask to now be let back in and are turned down, will we get another aw shucks Petition and Go-Fund-NTH campaign purportedly drafted and run by the innocent kids with no input from their parents n coaches?Didn't someone on here also have a bridge or two to sell , wonder if it's still available 🙄🙄🙄

When that happens all of the great players you’ve not developed leave and go back home.

I would agree with this statement if they get rid of TG. Will TG stay? Is he the type of coach that moves on to where he can get "better" talent (i.e. Urban Meyer)? Of will he stay and prove that it is all about the coaching and developing talent?

I realize many folks have a bone to pick with NTH. NTH is not the main point. It's about having a level playing field and pathway to the top for ALL teams, every year, without a glass ceiling. This is not possible under ECNL, other US club leagues or former DA.

Of will he stay and prove that it is all about the coaching and developing talent? He will stay. Not to prove anyone wrong. Not to prove he can do it. He will stay because he loves the game and loves developing players. And he’s good at it. One of the best I’ve seen. And next year Tophat will again place 20+ D1 commits in top programs. And TG will have played a significant role in their development.

Fun.
Regarding the petition...its pretty simple IMO. If you love the club and believe what they're telling you, stay. If you think ECNL is the be-all-end-all of club soccer now that DA us kaput, leave. Apply these in this order and you will come to the right decision for you or your kid.
