this schedule says 19-20 ... do you have a link for 20-21? Yep - last year's schedule with last year's scores. They haven't added Atlanta United, UFA, the second CCF team and maybe a couple of others (lost count). So, this years' schedule and this years' clubs are not updated yet for Boys ECNL

Ecnl games dates came out about a month ago. Not sure how to upload the excel sheet though.
For AFU not exactly happy with being at Tenn SC and BUSA Labor Day weekend.

Be thankful you aren’t having to make the Tampa/Miramar trip. I think that was first for a Ga team last year or the year before a. Besides - your kid is on ECNL team. That is what you wanted - and what they wanted. Small price to pay and the time in the car is process - it will pass quickly and there are kids who would love to be doing that but didn’t make the team or other factors keep them Off top teams

If they play Labor Day weekend...or anytime soon..just be grateful. The kids are tired of training without actually playing in a game. And I know us parents are ready to see our kids play too!

I am amazed at the fortitude of my oldest who has not played a game or full field scrimmage in slightly over 6 months. It is so hard to train for all that time without the joy of the games. 2 scrimmages were supposed to happen last weekend and we had to cancel due to a teammate testing positive for COVID. I thought all of us were going to burst into tears when we got the news of the cancellation! Now next is friendlies in 3 weeks. I hope those happen because I don't know how long this motivation will last. Even the little one gets teary-eyed when the practices don't have scrimmages or 1v1 or 2v2. Only have 2 more weeks to wait there.

Agree. It's tough to motivate the majority of teenagers to just train for months without any matches in sight. Kids have to start playing actual matches, it's been too long.

I can't wait to watch the kids play in actual games! Our team camp starts tomorrow and was supposed to kick off with a scrimmage with our ECNL team and that got canceled, hoping the scrimmage scheduled for next weekend still happens! It's been so long, and since the return to play doesn't include any goalkeeping activity in phase one or phase two, my keeper daughter has been getting no time in the net, which doesn't bode well for her, lol. We are trying to supplement with a few goalkeeping camps and she does do a couple of toca sessions per month and her trainer has been trying to incorporate some keeper drills as well, so hopefully she won't be completely rusty.

Looks like it may not be possible to have many games or many days at school without the ability to have a rapid test. Hopefully I’m wrong 🤞

Because I won't be sighing if this season gets canceled. I will sigh with relief if we go ahead. It is a bit crazy to try to understand what is going to happen. So many colleges are canceling but many are planning to go ahead. Same with high school sports. I can understand postponing the out of state/overnight trips, but it seems like local play is reasonable.

The bigger issue with all of this is - while I appreciate the governing bodies giving every state and county the ability to run their local governments the way they think is best (because that is truly one of the beautiful things about our republic democracy), it is causing a problem for sports and in all honesty, I don't see how any league, any doc, any coach or any parent can truly make the decisions necessary
Two examples:
Teams in other sports have had children 'exposed' and the rest of the team that was around said child have been told to self quarantine for 14 days. (no, the exposed child had not been tested but was 'presumed' positive and the other kids were automatically told to self quarantine)
Teams in local soccer have had children 'exposed' and the rest of the team 'told' but not told to self quarantine
Now, let's think about that in terms of a season.
Let's say two clubs - oh, I don't know UFA and AFU have an ECNL game - girls or boys (doesn't matter) and one of the players has been exposed (and this is discovered befrore/after the game). What happens? Do they forfeit (if identified before)? Postpone the game? Both teams self quarantine (if discovered before/during/after)? What about the games for other teams they are supposed to play during the quarantine? AND - does everyone have to get tested? If they do get tested, how many negative tests do they need before they can return to play - AND WHO DETERMINES THAT - does the club, the DOC - or local authorities - and which ones - is that by the state, county, city? Because it seems like we have different thoughts across the state....
and before that - what about tournaments?
AND - has anyone heard how many parents can actually watch the game and is it broken down per team. Based on my math (which I've tried common core and old school) - I'm not thinking either team at a soccer game can allow even one parent for each player to be on the sidelines - the 'social distancing' isn't enough space - though I guess you could get away with it if everyone is 'wearing a mask'
Look, I'm all for playing soccer and going to school (and my kid is doing both). But no one is really thinking this through based on the guidelines we have and the impacts it could have especially if someone is forced into self quarantine and my gut tells me some people want to play so badly, they'll ignore the signs and symptoms and sit on the sidelines sick or put their kid on the field.

I think all that you have said is valid including people willing to put themselves, their kids and others at risk. One of the local tournaments that I signed our team to play has on their COVID policy that they "suggest" one parent per player attend. Whether this will happen with a suggestion I seriously doubt. I DO think it could work at fields if people do not sit all in a straight line next to the sideline. If people stagger it could work. I think to forfeit games due to COVID exposure would be a very bad idea because it is a disincentive to be respectful of the safety of your team and others. I do not think the public health authorities will get involved directly in determining the quarantining policies for "exposed" teammates and the like because of the fact that they are overwhelmed with the numbers and can't do contact tracing etc. They can help set the policies that the teams, leagues etc follow. The enforcement of such is probably on the league and the club. We already had to do the quarantine due to a positive teammate. Let me give you some info as to how it went down without giving names or the correct dates but I will give you the scenario. Day 1 teammates all together at a training. Day 6 teammate gets tested because her dad is positive. Day 10 teammate finds out she is positive and we are told. Now luckily the last time the kids were together was day 1 because they had the following week off training together. Day 11 my kid gets her rapid test (done because if she was positive I did not want her spreading it to everyone and because on day 10 when we got the email we were eating dinner with her grandparents). Luckily my kid is negative. She forgoes her scheduled private trainer until day 15 (her team's trainings were canceled until day 22 which was 2 weeks after teammate got tested). Next week is team camp. I do not know if the positive teammate, who was asymptomatic, is allowed back yet because I do not know if they are making her have two negative tests or just wait out the 2 weeks without symptoms. There are several issues with this story, but one of my biggest is that the results need to be immediate like they were for my kid. No one should have to wait 4 days (or longer) to know if they are positive. Secondly I don't know the story on this girl's dad, but the team lost training and two scrimmages and it was very possible that the girl did not even have the virus at the training where the other girls and coach were theoretically exposed. The privacy issues make it hard for anyone to even know the background on that (maybe the coach and DOC do) so we may have canceled all of that stuff for no reason. It is definitely better to be safe but wow it is a convoluted mess to consider all of the possible exposures from one situation!!!

For ECNL Girls in the SE - Hearing that the powers that be had a socially distanced meeting yesterday and are looking to revamp the Southeastern Conference schedule. Goal is to shrink it from 22 games down to 16 games. The prevailing sentiment is that ECNL might remove the requirement of playing ALL the Florida teams this year. Further conversations are trying to preserve as many games for the U13/U14s as a contingency, as long as the numbers are down, since they play in both the Fall/Spring. So for those working off of the preliminary schedule that came out a month ago, hold off on buying those Florida flights or at least make sure you can get a refund/credit...
p.s. As far as I know, nothing was said about the Boys preliminary schedule that also went out last month

Regarding the earlier question as to tourney covid rules, we’re looking at SSA and they require EVERYONE wear a mask unless you are actively running around the field. On the other hand, NASA says the use of masks should be in accordance with local guidelines regarding public use. And then of course both have lots of other rules about distancing, no touching, no sharing of items, etc, however, I don’t recall anything about limiting spectators as of yet. So there are two examples as to how some of the local tournaments are tackling it...
