Who knew you could read so much into a logo? The strong and modern player icon at the center of the badge symbolizes the player’s position at the center of every ECNL program. The motion and upward focus of the icon represent the league’s innovative programs and philosophy to constantly change and improve the sport. The classic badge shape reflects the league’s strength and history of leadership transforming youth soccer. The unique color schemes reflect the modernization of the league, with tailored programming and structure for each gender, but both united under one identity. The new league identity captures the symmetry of excellence and humility, exclusivity and accessibility, and freedom and community that is necessary to lead the sport forward.

Who knew you could read so much into a logo? Ha. Graphic designers/branding companies always come up with this stuff to justify news design. And they always crack me up. I always wonder if they come up with it before or after a logo (sorry, "badge") is created.

I don’t like their new campaign and branding at all. It seems to me like they are trying to keep up with the GA And DPL marketing and it’s not coming across as authentic IMO.

Is it really a threat though? Are they going to suddenly let in more clubs than had U15+ DA had? Many of the clubs that have ECNL now had ECNL before as 2nd teams (some as first).
ECNL is a U13-U19 platform for college-bound athletes, which will always be the goal of the organization. Is that the goal of MLSNext? ECNL will have more local competition and less travel $$$ requirement (on the boys side now).
Sounds to me like they're not competing in the same markets.

Yes MLSNext "non-MLS" will be lower end this year, I'm sure better and stronger clubs added each year. By year 3, off to races. WAY more money will be thrown at it than ENCL can dream of. I still think the MLSNext MLS teams will have very high D1 numbers, maybe higher than ECNL (like DA has had since ECNL Boys started) ECNL is only considered top league now just because DA went bye bye. MLSNext is the DA replacement for sure. If you think the mission of MLS league is just pro players that is not the case. They want the 2% be HG Pro every year but also want high level D1 for the rest because they have HG College Pro option still on the table. AU still have over 30 D1 HG eligible players from Freshman-Senior.

I'm not sure if you realize that MLSNext is actually trying to do things better than DA did. They are trying to keep travel down in order to save costs, they have also stated that they are trying to reduce cost (pay to play) in order to open up doors for those that typically would not be able to afford it. Just to reiterate what allthingsoccer said, and before the ECNL people jump on this post, with anything new its going to be a process, meaning it won't happen overnight and in particular will be much slower with covid19 still looming around. allthingsoccer has already stated that. Unfortunately, ECNL is more of the same, lets capitalize on the demize of DA and fill up our pockets, only difference this time is less travel since there are more teams which seems to be the selling point they are helping players and families. They can't even get their website together during a pandemic. People thinking ECNL is the best thing out there for youth is laughable. There are better teams in NL and GPL than ECNL. I get tired of hearing people in ECNL or previously DA talking like they are just so elite when we know that is not the case as you have kids that make those teams based on relationships and loyalty with clubs and coaches. MLSNext on the other hand, is trying to emulate euro model, less cost, less travel, more inclusive, better competition, better scouting. You guys need to give them a chance to succeed before writing them off.

Yes I know we are in the throws of a pandemic, but ECNL+ you really need to do better,...
First, they took forever in getting out their new marketing tools aka The Patch, then they distributed out multiple versions of their "working" schedule. Sent out confusing info to clubs on eligible showcases for multiple age-groups, allowing some clubs to miss arbitrary deadlines that they set. They finally published said final schedule which is still incorrect. They take weeks to post updated scores and game outcomes and standings. Finally it has been almost 72 hours since any of their websites were responsive. I always commended ECNL for their organization in the past. I never had to ask folks within ECNL what was going on, their social platforms and websites were a bevvy of information but the last few weeks is definitely making folks reconsider - Okay, Rant Over 😳😳😳

Yes MLSNext "non-MLS" will be lower end this year, I'm sure better and stronger clubs added each year. By year 3, off to races. WAY more money will be thrown at it than ENCL can dream of. I think a lot of the weakness of their rebranding and website has to do with ECNL itself being a small organization. Their full time staff is pretty small I believe. Cool, so Inter, SSA and LSA have a lot more money to throw at the league than they have been using thus far? If not and AU is going to give money to SSA, Inter and LSA to compete, that's pretty awesome. Unless there's something I'm unaware of, those clubs aren't going to suddenly have more cash to give the scholarships or free tuition. Or perhaps all the MLS clubs are going to give the non-MLS clubs more money in some sort of sharing? I didn't know MLS businesses were in the habit of throwing money around like that.
I guarantee that (if it survives), by year 3 the MLS and non-MLS will be put into different brackets just like DA did. DA didn't push for that, MLS clubs did.
Remember the reason that DA folded is because it was simply too expensive and the ROI was far too small.
