What clubs or what area of Florida?

FL did this repeatedly back in the RPL days. Literally had kids in the air when they cancelled one season, another group turning around in Tifton. They claimed weather, then refs, but it was really a HS issue.

Only had problems with one FL club but on multiple occasions - FL Elite.

Never had an issue like this with Florida teams. I thought Georgia and Florida had their own divisions?

Georgia trip to Florida cancelled again due to COVID with no new date in sight and probably won't even get played, as this was the second reschedule. The timing is just uncanny for my taste. Florida just started High School ball and probably not practicing as a CLUB Unit. These particular clubs stated in the first reschedule request that they had HS Season coming up and it would be hard to honor the request, but they gave a new date. Now we are here at the new date = CANCELED I am hearing a slue of, "COVID," reasons as to why games cannot be played. LET ME BE CLEAR - COVID IS REAL AF, so DON'T COME FOR ME!!! I'm 1 of the few parents who wears a mask. But, I cannot help but look at standings and the timing of cancellations : 1. Kids traveled together on school busses for HS Games, so now they cannot play due to exposure = But you play HS games, with no issue 2. ECNL Players are injured, so SCCL players are helping out = you cannot afford a loss in an already condensed season 3. I have a player that doesn't fell well, but you didn't let your team know the reason for the cancellation = Leave her behind or request a rapid test so you know for sure before you head out (QUARANTINE THE TEAM MAYBE?)I could be crazy, but it all seems very SUS to me, when I look at particular teams, their rankings and teams on their heels, it makes me go HHMMMM? So they are essentially COCK BLOCKING teams in a heated race that could potentially advance. IT's all, "IF!" I believe if you WIN you WIN and if you LOSE you LOSE, but don't hide behind a pandemic because you are scared to lose! Of course, ECNL and Clubs cannot be called to the carpet on anything because everyone needs to ere on the side of caution. IMO I am having a little trouble following all of your points. I get the issue with the suspicious COVID cancellation when they are playing high school. That is very wrong. Quarantine for one team, Quarantine for all teams. I am not following the ECNL injuries/SCCL helpers point though. R u saying that some GA teams are claiming covid because they don't want to play due to injuries? I am not following you there.

This is so unfortunate. How irresponsible of the clubs and their staff to allow the creation of a makeshift stories to protect their rankings. There's one word for what you've outlined, CHEATING. What are they teaching the kids??? Part of the reason you put kids in sports should be to teach them how to manage in real life situations in a team setting. Adversity is part of life. So what they have H.S. soccer! Learn how to walk and chew gum. Balance your responsibilities and don't take advantage of the current climate so that you can get ahead! Parents are paying far too much money to have games canceled unnecessarily. Maybe the GA and FL Departments of Health should be alerted to make sure contact tracing has taken place. Since the teams are unknown, Public Health can reach out to ECNL and find out where the possible exposure has occurred. How do any of us know that our kids haven't played against this kid with a potential case of COVID!? And your point of rapid testing is so telling. There are rapid testing sites all over. In a situation of high level sports and mass exposure, the club should have required one to ensure everyone's health is protected. Contact tracing and quarantining is required when a POSSIBLE COVID case has been identified. That whole team better be at home until the results come back! Not one player should be at a high school game or classroom. Shame on anyone who is involved in being dishonest and sacrificing the season of other players to protect their own. All valid points! I'm not sure about current announcements, but as of yesterday wen they cancelled the trip, there were no team/club announcements of a possible exposure, they just said the weekend was cancelled with no reason, but they did have an SSCL kid train with them this past week who claim was not feeling well. That should be the priority, not because your ECNL players are injured and want to protect ranking. IMO, very SUS, just suspecting.

Boys did the right thing this year and separated GA/FL.

Another reason ECNL needs to add IMG, Weston and maybe United Soccer Alliance and form a Florida-only conference. Then move CESA, SCUFC, FC Alliance and TNSC to ECNL Southeast.

Girls are combined. Sounds like OP is referring to girls. Concorde Platinum and GSA were scheduled to play Florida Elite and Jacksonville.

Not sure what team you are referring to trying to “protect” their lead due to injuries but I assume you are referring to GSA 05’s. Just an FYI if in fact that’s the team you’re referring to. They played the number 3 team in their bracket and a lower level team last weekend with 4 starters out in the first game and had a 5th get hurt in the second game and won both. So I don’t think they were really concerned heading down south. Their 04’s are down to 9 total players due to injuries and they show up every week as well. If those are the teams you’re referring to you’re probably barking up the wrong tree.

Sounds good minus the fact Tenn plays Girls Hs in the Fall. Maybe if Ga gets out of the Stone Age and moves HS soccer to the Fall like nearly 90% of the states then multi state divisions would work.

Honest question: how does it work with Fall HS soccer? Do they have different facilities? Do they share the facility? Soccer on Mon Tues Wed and Football on Thurs Fri? Honestly I would prefer fall soccer, then America’s Game 🥍 would have the field to ourselves in the Spring.

Soccer is a winter sport in Florida. I believe Texas and Cali also. I do not know why they do it in the winter but I can tell you I was happier to play it in the winter. The weather was much better. It would make more sense for the club teams and the high school teams if everyone played at the same time. Then competition would be apples to apples at showcases and playoffs.

With turf, no issues. However, as we have discovered, there is very little turf outside of metro Atlanta (especially South Georgia)

It’s not just a game time availability question it’s also practice space. In fall you have 9th grade, JV, varsity football plus flag football and the marching band all vying for practice space. So five practice spaces needed. In spring you have girls soccer, boys soccer, girls lacrosse, boys lacrosse and track with space demands. Also five spaces needed (track being the only one who can practice in the game day stadium and baseball/softball usually have separate spaces). If you look at numbers there are more fall players than spring.

Not so sure about how many have girls LAX and how many have JV and Varsity boys and Girls LAX but still likely more than 5 spaces needed.

They can (and often do) practice in the student parking lots. Second, football which last time I checked has 11 players on the field (same as soccer) yet needs 100 paying customers on the sidelines needs all that field space is for money. If we stop with this sexist nonsense of 9th/JV/Var teams and treat them like the other sports because we all know almost all schools have about 50 true football players between JV/Var and the rest are just there to look cool. The only reason football has more numbers is because we put them on a pedestal and make them gods, stop the enabling and focus on all students not just the rich ones.
