I would assume that means all 4 ecnl teams in town and maybe Busa and the north florida ecnl teams will be part of it. Makes for more fun at tryout time. For UFA probably a pretty easy swap out npl for ercl but for the SCCL 2nd team clubs that will drop SCCL down a peg. RIP Norcross gee thanks.

It is possible they will form a true second team and do it at another location. Or they may choose to have two teams in ECRL. There are other clubs that do it. Charlotte Independence does and so does CSA.

I am concerned about quality of 3rd (ECNL-RL) and 4th (SCCL-C) teams Concorde can field now with SSA partnership ending soon.

Asked him if their team would be moved to ECNL with SSA stepping aside. He said no, that for their age group, about 1/2 of the current Concorde Premier team (made up of SSA players as we know) would move from SSA to Concorde and then they'd pull the rest up from their SCCL-C team.

RIP Norcross In the eyes of UFA, the Norcross location housed the 3rd team in the pyramid(TPDL), so nothing new - ECNL - ECRL - SCCL-C... In other news, am I right in reading that GSA will be charging for and ECNL/ECRL ID Camp? Is that normal, to charge for them to get first dibs at picking you for their team where you now have to pay for the right to play with said team? Does the cost of the ID camp go towards your Tuition/Fees if you sign up with GSA? Or could it all be an elaborate scheme to just weed out those who are "just looking?"

They do not charge their own players for attending the ID Camp, but players from other clubs need to pay. The fee does NOT get applied to your dues if you decide to sign with GSA.

Sorry - I know others do it
But if you need an ID camp to identify your own players already at your club, you have done a complete crap job! There I said it.

It’s not meant to ID current club players, but by charging they can bring players in from outside the club before the “official tryouts”. All about the legal tampering.

But you don’t have to legally tamper at that point. As of May 1, you can hold tryouts if you want.

I would bet some sort of realignment will be forthcoming. It's yet to be seen if Atlanta United will remain in ECNL with MLS Next expanding. They don't even participate in all ages now. My guess is the SC teams will all be part of the Southeast Conference. From the SC Surf website: "What Conference will South Carolina Surf participate in and who are the clubs/teams? We will be joining the Southeast Conference, while the conference map is not yet finalized, our opponents likely will include: Alabama FC (AL), Atlanta Fire (GA), Atlanta United (GA), CESA (SC) Chattanooga Red Wolves (TN), Concorde Fire(GA), FC Alliance (TN), GSA (GA), NTH-NASA (GA), South Carolina United (SC), Tennessee SC (TN), and UFA (GA)." Seems they expect (or maybe were told) that the other SC teams will be part of the Southeast. Not sure how I missed this before. Looks from this like ECNL SE will be making 2 trips to SC with 3 clubs joining. Not sure how that will work with one of them not having a travel partner. That's alot of travel for the SC and TN teams, but no more for ATL clubs than it would be with FL teams in SE.

Not sure I agree with adding these SC teams to the ECNL SE.
Selfishly I'm not a fan of the drive to Columbia, boring as heck. Basically I don't like I-20.
But it would make more sense for the NC teams to revolt on Virginia and just make a conference with South Carolina.
I think Atlanta to Charleston is to far to go for a single game.

It wouldn’t surprise me if ATL UTD drops out. I also have not heard great things about MLSNext. Seems like ATL is running over those programs. Wonder if SSA or LSA would want into boys ECNL in 2021-22?

ECNL Mid-Atlantic currently has 13 teams on the girls side.....14 with the addition of Arlington SA next year. So seems possible ECNL would do some realignment.
