. GA may not be as well-known as it is newer but calling it minor league (if making baseball reference) is definitely not right. Some of the best clubs in the country still do GA. Is there more depth in ECNL? Yes. But GA still plays some great clubs and still sends kids to great colleges and will continue to do so. Everyone should remember that Coach is more important than League. Wearing a Hatters shirt still means something to colleges as well. In the end it is all about development so whatever club you think will help your kid the most is where you should go. Tophat style of play fits some kids more than CF and vice versa. Some kids that left TH for CF last year came back already in some age groups (some even mid season). I am sure more TH will leave for CF too. It doesn't matter. |

I honestly think we spend to much time fighting about which league or club is better I am sure we can all agree there are good and bad for everything. If your kid wants to play in college it is all about how they market themselves not league or club. All we talk about is ECNL/GA last I check I saw some girls sign for college from DPL/NPL/SCCL and even Athena A-D. Sorry to tell you not every girl or boy that plays soccer is trying to go to UNC, Stanford, Clemson. Let stop bashing these league and clubs and making our kids feel unworthy and start promoting the love of the game and enjoying our kids having fun. imagine saying this with straight face. If every players u keep mentioning leaving TH, how come they keep being the top 3 youth football in the country? I really need answer to that. Last yr u particular said how bad TH is going to be, and guess what TH is number 2 currently. CF no where to be find. Even with TH players on CF teams. And have you look at GA Map recently? |

We had a team that was falling apart with players trying out mostly at two clubs. When one of the girls did not make the team they had hoped for at one club (Club A) the player went to tryout at another club (Club B) and father liked the team. He then proceeded to go onto team snap and proclaim how great the team (Club B) was and that Club B was better at technical development than the club they were originally trying out for (Club A). Many of the girls had made the Club A team. So he begins to trash the results of the older Club A teams in comparison to Club B older teams. This kind of crap is so aggravating. Club trashing and league trashing. The girl was a good player who is getting better all of the time and has good instincts for the game and good athleticism but still getting technical and tactical better. I honestly think she is better and will be better than some of the girls who made Club A. I am sure her father felt some resentment. He is not wrong that the older teams at Club B are better than Club A, but it is not ok to trash your former teammates and their decisions. There are opportunities for kids all around Atlanta at many clubs and in several leagues. Check your superiority or inferiority complexes at the door. |

It really is pretty simple--pick the coach, team, club, and league that is best for your child and don't concern yourself with what any other person is doing.
