2021 NPL Finals Day Five: Champions Crowned COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (July 12, 2021) – The 2021 National Premier Leagues Finals, held July 8-12 at d***’S Sporting Goods Park, awarded 10 total championships across both NPL Girls Finals and NPL Boys Finals competitions. The NPL Girls Finals included all ages from U-13 through U-19 competing for a national championship. The NPL Girls Finals represented the culminating event of a challenging 2020-21 season that featured qualifiers from regional NPLs throughout the country. Meanwhile, the NPL Boys Finals served as the finale of a challenging, two-stage NPL postseason that began two weeks ago in both Colorado and South Carolina, with over 125 teams at the NPL National Playoff, which had all earned qualification to the prestigious tournament through successful regular seasons in their respective NPL league platforms. Below is a list of winners from the NPL Girls and NPL Boys finals competitions: NPL Boys Finals Champions U-14 NPL Boys National Champion: South Carolina Surf (South Atlantic Premier League) U-15 NPL Boys National Champion: Addison United (NISL) U-16 NPL Boys National Champion: Southern Chester County SA Dragons (PRCL) U-17 NPL Boys National Champion: Blitz United (Red River) NPL Girls Finals Champions U-13 NPL Girls National Champion: East County Surf (Southern California) U-14 NPL Girls National Champion: AFC Lightning (South Atlantic Premier League) U-15 NPL Girls National Champion: Club Ohio (Great Lakes Alliance) U-16 NPL Girls National Champion: Louisiana Fire SC (Gulf States) U-17 NPL Girls National Champion: Midwest Premier Academy (NISL) U-19 NPL Girls National Champion: Cleveland Cobras SC (Great Lakes Alliance) Overall, a total of seven NPL member leagues were represented. South Atlantic Premier League, Great Lakes Alliance and NISL were the only leagues to capture two divisions. The display of championship matches in both NPL Girls and NPL Boys competitions were highly contested as seven of the 10 total finals were decided by one goal. East County Surf 08G Select, AFC Lightning 07G, Louisiana Fire SC, and Midwest Premier Academy 04G clinched each of the their respective age group titles by a one-goal margin in NPL Girls Finals contests. Three of the NPL Boys Finals matches were decided by just a single score, with the exception of the U-14 NPL Boys Final, which finished 2-0 in favor of South Carolina Surf in a heated South Atlantic Premier League battle against Wake FC. I don't know the scores but AFC 06B and SSA 06G both lost in the finals I believe 06 Boys-L2-1 I'm hearing the 06 Boys lost the championship game on a PK goal in the last 2 minutes of the second overtime period. Sounds like a heart breaker.

Why are most of the SCCL teams playing in the 2nd division of national cup? I haven’t looked at the boys but on the girls side the only one I saw playing in the second division was Concorde’s u14 team. Both GSA teams and both Roswell teams (u13,u15,u16,u17) are all in the top division. I assume that concorde must have asked for second division.

Both Concorde U14 girls and Roswell U16 girls lost in the finals of the US Club National Cup. Good run to make finals for both clubs.

At the recent US Club National Finals (CO), were the ECNL teams there ones that did not make it to the ECNL National Playoffs (NC) and/or ECNL-R teams? Just trying to sort through ECNL teams that were at this recent event in CO with SCCL teams vs those who went to the playoffs in NC...or could some of those teams have done both if they wanted to since different weekends?

I can confirm that the 06G Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the Super bracket are an ECNL team. They won the Southeast Regionals, playing their ECNL-R team in the final. The ECNL-R team played in the Premier bracket at nationals.
Personally I have no issues with this, but its not a good look for an ECNL club...especially if they don't reach the final.

CESA and Charlotte are playing for boys ECNL national title at U15 and CESA is playing for title at U16 as well. Is South Carolina soccer better than soccer in Georgia or is Georgia talent pool just more diluted?

I am surprised honey badger has not mentioned this but since we know 3 girls on this team I will do the honors. All-in FC 03 team made it to the finals at USYS South Regionals. Unfortunately they lost in the finals but still congratulations to them! Seems I mentioned it but you may be correct .
