White woman: $46,270 pa (82¢ on the dollar)
Black woman: $35,549 pa (63¢ on the dollar)
Native American woman: $33,857 pa (60¢ on the dollar)
Latina woman: $31,045 pa (55¢ on the dollar)

Maybe your misdirected outrage against Megan Rapinoe & female soccer players would be better spent being supportive of closing equity gaps wherever they exist?!!

Thanks for sharing the data. I find almost any subject hard to discuss these days on the internet. I do not find most people really want to explore their thoughts and preconceived notions. What always concerns me, as in the case of USWNT is a narrative starts that US Soccer was biased when determining their comp package. That appears to be simply not true as it relates to their compensation and like most news headlines, most people will only remember the accusation not the results of the case. But there are plenty of glaring examples of disparities in athletics (and all over), a recent one which went viral that I remember was the disparity in weight rooms between men and women at March Madness (someone should have been fired).  

Back to your post though, to you specific point though on pay discrepancy, if the statements below is true would it bother you as much the data in your post - young, college educated women (no kids) are earning more than young, college educated men (no kids) in most metropolitan areas? 

There is a lot of data, and if you found some interesting data points I would love to read more. This is a subject that I spent a lot of time because like most of us we have boys/girls men/women in our lives that are important to us. There are clear examples of women being paid less than men, sometimes the reasons are unclear and like many things that are not 1+1=2, the weight of the reasons are subjective. There are a lot of other factors (e.g. hours worked, expectations of child care, parental care).

To really jump to a new topic related specifically to gender, the area that is of biggest concern to me at the moment is that boys are going to college at significantly lower rates than girls. Would you be surprised to know that the graduation rate for boys is only slightly higher than for economically disadvantaged students (82% v. 80%)? Generally Unfortunately we don't live in a world where people advocate for boys in the same way as girls, or that is my perspective.

Let me throw this out, another way to think of data that is less of a third rail is the following true statement, 50% of marriages end in divorce. But why? 

- Is the rate of divorce the same if both individuals are college graduates? What if they were college graduates and go to church on Sunday?

You can go down the rabbit hole yourself if you want too, I find data fascinating. It can't help answer everything, and ultimately its subjectively. 

Wage gap differences has variables and different to actually calculate when it comes down to individual choices but the myth continues on:
