Anyone have a clue on what clubs are in SCCL and when a schedule might be released? Would be good to know for potential Tennessee and Alabama trips.

If you have to ask you can't afford it. When you sign up for travel soccer, you forfeit the right to have any control over your schedule. Enjoy the ride.

Heard bits and pieces that the Club to Club level has been completely changed. Couple clubs pulled teams out of especially with ECRL/DPL/MLSNext.

SCCL site in need of updating.
I'd be surprised if BUSA is still in SCCL. Their 2nd teams weren't good in SCCL last year and now those teams have moved to ECNL-R. The addition of TUSC(?) doesn't really make sense either and FC Alliance is out of SCCL.
IMO SCCL Club should be AFC, AFU, CF, GSA, Inter, NTH, SSA, UFA along with Rush/Chiefs/LSA and Ambush still hanging on (Ambush was pretty bad on the girls side). Would be a pretty good state-representative league.

Sounds like Club level could disappear after this year with the new leagues. It had its purpose to get away from GA Soccer and the Premier leagues are set up to continue league play.

I think it was a joke, mainly at the expense of the leagues/clubs that lord over us and have generally terrible communication.

GSA SCCL mom here. We have TUSC on our schedule from the coach for anyone who was wondering if TUSC is in the league. I still haven't seen the schedule posted on the SCCL website though. We are playing AFU, TUSC, GSA, SSA, Ambush, Concorde, UFA, TPH. Sure wish they would post it on their website though.

I thought Tennessee United was going to be a new SCCL club team but didn't see them

Our TM forwarded us our schedule yesterday. We know who we are playing and when, but not all times yet. It matches the one posted above.
We are a girls 03/04 SCCL Club and will play 9 games. Three full weekends off. Final game on Sunday November 14. Total of 9 teams at the club level, and we play one team twice for some reason. Tennessee United does have a team at our SCCL Club level.

I found out the Tennessee United put their boys team in the South Atlantic NPL team. The girls team is in the SCCL. The SCCL should have communicated that clearly when they announced their new teams a few months ago.

Man, that's light. I feel like with 9 teams you should do a full round robin of home & home vs. the other 8 teams and have 16 games total, especially since you won't have a spring season at that age (I don't think, sorry, don't have kids that old). Would lessen the need for additional tournaments (and the associated cost) to fill out the fall schedule. Clearly SCCL and the clubs don't care about making sure parents get bang for their buck as far as games go.

It's also assuming that every game actually gets played which wasn't the case last season. It's very hard to get games rescheduled when they get cancelled due to covid, weather or teams like FC Alliance who didn't want to travel to Atlanta anymore to lose (but hey they are now in ECRL).

I thought about this angle too - IMO it would be better to "overschedule", knowing some may get cancelled due to weather or Covid, so that it ensures you still play a good # of games. Only 9 games scheduled means you could end up just playing like 7 of them and having a tough time rescheduling because the teams involved have either scheduled a tournament to makeup for the lack of games or maybe the families on those teams made plans, thinking they had a free weekend.

No real communication, no schedules published going into September other than private links, then we find schedules with like 9 games, more and more shiny leagues, diluted competitions, lack of parity, "travel" soccer as some chose to call it, and no responses to questions except some nice folks here in the forum. Top to bottom, is this really progress compared to the leagues and competitive environment we had five years ago?

Expect more quarantine cancelations again this year. We played 8 SCCL Club games last fall (no point rescheduling the 9th). Happy that we get 14 in ECRL even if all of them aren't played. We only had 9 games the year my kid played Athena A 4 years ago.

Imagine if we had “one league to rule them all”... schedule might not be out until November.

Yes but a lot of divisions were completely reworked since it went up on Friday. Chaos erupting through out club schedulers as field schedules have to hit reset after working on them all weekend. 😂

I went back and checked and now there are 10 games vs 8 games for my kid. Still not great but at least better than 8.

Multiple dates changed on our schedule that the TM just shared a couple days ago. Teams that we were scheduled to play on certain dates have now moved to completely different dates. Field locations and times also disappeared that were in place. Assume they have to completely rework things now.

Our team moved from P1 to club and we were given all away games. Yep no home games, 10 away games. You can imagine the complaints.

The people running it were voted in by all the clubs. Like all associations it belonged to everyone and noone. Different problems then at different times. The schedules however were not an issue, available long before this time and didn't change either unless both teams or coaches agreed or was a rainout.

That’s how it’s suppose to be as C2C is still hosted by each club like Academy and ECNL. I know that’s what teams were told last year if they got promoted. It sucks but the only way you can keep the C2C structure and allow for promotion.

When was that? 1960? I played through the 80s and 90s and you always had multiple leagues, if not Ga Soccer you’ve got AYSO, church leagues, Hispanic leagues, county & city leagues. GaSoccer became a major player but they failed at what they did and thus why nearly every major club has left it. Not saying SCCL is much better but you trade one group of headaches for another.
