Guessing you think CF Platinum 07s and NASA 05s will win...unless there have been some changes... I don’t know - most teams look improved with just a few exceptions. And CESA and SC United will be good - I don’t know much about SC Surf. There will be some good preseason matchups at the CF Tournament and at CESA the following weekend which will shed some light on everything, but I think in the 07s it’s still GSA, UFA, NASA, & add CESA to that. Outside chance for CF Platinum to get into the mix, but right now it’s a bunch of new players that haven’t done anything yet. 05s will be interesting and seem up in the air to me - GSA got better, so did UFA and NASA, and I don’t think CF Platinum will actually drop off that much. But adding National runner-up CESA to the conference is big if they can score more goals this year. 07 CF Platinum plays Florida Conference winner Florida Elite in about 2 hours - I’ll update you.

At U15 (2007) boys, I would expect to see GSA, UFA, NASA, CESA, SC Surf, Chattanooga and CF Platinum all fighting for playoff spots.

CF Platinum 07s just beat Florida Elite 1-0 with a bunch of guys that have been together for 5 practices. The game wasn’t close- felt like a 4-1 type of game. Some good stuff and some rough stuff but CF Platinum has potential. Florida Elite obviously not used to losing.

Here are my predictions for Southeast ECNL Boys standings: U14--GSA U15--GSA U16--CESA or Concorde Plat U17--CESA or Concorde Plat U18--NASA 08 GSA might struggle this year after losing their GK and striker to Atlanta United. They lost 0-2 to Concorde Platinum (who scored 11 goals and conceded none all weekend) in the final of the Concorde Nike Select Cup. Concorde Platinum also had a strong showing in the top division at Surf Cup last weekend, going 2-0-1, scoring 7, conceding 1. Might be the team to beat this year.

Just a preseason showcase for many but based on results: 2007s: CF Platinum > Chattanooga > FL Elite > FC Alliance. BUT...GSAs 07s played in 06 second division and beat FC Alliance, CF Premier and Chattanooga's 06s. 2006s: CF > GSA > AL FC - CF 3-0 vs. GASA: GSA 4 - AL FC 3, CF and AL FC tied 2-2 2005s: AL FC > GSA > AFU > CF Platinum. AL FC tied Plat 0-0 but won convincingly 5-1 vs GSA and 3-0 vs AFU. GSA beat AFU 2-1. 2005s: second division was Chattanooga > GSA ECRL > CF Premier > FC Alliance 2003/2004s: CF Platinum (9) > GSA (6) > UFA and FC Alliance (1) 2003/2004s second division: AFU (9) > Chattanooga (4) > CF Premier (3) > AL FC (1)

The Charlotte FC U17 team has a blue chip striker.

Any ideas on U13 age group? I know that there is no ECNL history, but just wondering what people thing is up and coming there.

Any ideas on U13 age group? I know that there is no ECNL history, but just wondering what people thing is up and coming there. That will take a while to shake out in my opinion with expanded rosters and the move to the bigger field. It will take the coaches and players some time to figure it out. Based upon the Nike Select Cup results and the history of the age group, I would think it is a 4 team race between CF Plat, GSA, NASA and UFA. Don't know anything about the South Carolina clubs so will get a better idea on that after CESA Friendlies. CESA will match up with NASA and GSA so should get a good idea of how they will fit in. Surf has CF Premier and NASA. SC United has AFU and CF Premier.

My focus is on the girls side but you have to give NASA kudos, they only have 3 combined loses in ages U13-U18/19.

What’s the deal with GSA’s u15 coach? He talks trash about the quality of the other teams players constantly, even when they’re losing. Rubs off on their players too-constant chatter.. Wonder if the chirping players realize their coach was recruiting over lots of them all last May?

NASA's secret sauce on the boys side was when RA left Concorde and came to NASA. He is a quality coach and brought so many good people and players with him. I expect NASA to be very good and get even better on boys side for years to come. I also expect Concorde's decline to continue as a rapid pace.

NASA boys are currently first or second in every ECNL age group. So what’s their secret sauce? Good coaching or good recruiting or both? They have always been good at development in the young ages and bringing in strong players at older ages. Good combination. Oh and then there’s the TopHat effect (that’s sarcasm)

Imagine how their coach would have acted if they won. This is the same GSA coach that was begging NASA players to join his team.

Even a directors? kid went to another club instead of playing for him this year....
Team is still doing ok considering they lost 2 to ATL this year.

Starting with the U13s and ending with the U18s/19s they are 2nd, 1st, 1st, 2nd, 2nd and the oldest are listed as 3rd even though I think they should be 2nd. They do have the same PPG with UFA but they have more games completed, more point accumulated, more wins, less losses and a better GD. What am I missing?

It's a rounding thing as standings only show two decimal places. GSA has 25 points from 11 games which is 2.273 NASA has 34 points from 15 games which is 2.267

At the ECNL showcase, NTH-NASA, UFA, and GSA have all looked like top teams and are beating top teams from other regions at the top of their tables. Very good showing for Southeast and especially Atlanta-area ECNL teams U15 to U18/19.

Congratulations to NTH-NASA boys ECNL U15 (2007) on a ECNL SE championship and an undefeated season (20 wins 0 losses and 4 draws). Not sure how often a SE ECNL team goes undefeated in league play but seems like a big accomplishment for these boys.
