Which local girls team is the best at each of these age groups: 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008
I’d love to hear from those who personally know these age groups - it’s easy enough to look up results I suppose, but not everybody plays each other.

I would say UFA for 2009. Tophat for 2010. I have a 2010 and know many 2009. I am not sure for 2008.
UFA 2011 team is very very strong but played up last year for regular season and struggled a little in tournaments against their own age group. Rumor is they will play U13 SCCL Champions League but not sure how many games they will play against their own age group and whether those will be 11v11 or 9v9. Personally not sure if playing up is the right thing for them. Anyone know is GSA or CF 2011 playing up?

2008 would have to be Concorde Platinum. They dominated ECNL SE division.

2008 would have to be Concorde Platinum. They dominated ECNL SE division. Tophat 2008 beat that team by 4 in the spring. And made the GA National finals. So not sure on that one. |

Ambush Red (what’s left of it) dropped to P1. No Tenn, Alabama or oddly Concorde 2010s in SCCL. Does not surprise me no 2010 Concorde girls in SCCL C. They have two ECNL and at least one ECRL team locally. Not sure about their new players in, but their 2010 top central team was great last year and their west team was strong but the white team was only decent and they did not have a strong red team or north black team. It's a little odd that the top 2011 teams play up in SCCL-C. Why don't they want to play against the top teams in their own age group instead of playing the 3rd/4th teams in a year older? I predict they will dominate.

I predict they will dominate. It is the American need to play full field soccer as early as possible. They want their top teams to "get ahead" by playing 11v11. I think it is not in the best interest of the players, but the clubs either disagree or bow to parental pressure. IMO this just places more emphasis on size and athleticism instead of technical ability and creativity. But hey! What do I know? I am "just a parent." |

Don't care about the club as much. Older one has been burned with bad coaches in the past so we have become even more reliant good coaching and making sure the game remains fun. |

Hard to say the “best team” so I will just list some top teams, but a lot has changed since last season. 2008- Concorde, Tophat 2009- UFA and Tophat 2010- GSA & Tophat 2011- UFA, GSA, Tophat and Concorde. AFU new season-should be strong contenders in some of the age groups mentioned. Not a big club, but the YMCA Arsenal Rome 2009 team is a solid team. The girls are skilled and seems that they have great coaching. I believe they played and won the Club SCCL level last season. |

Ok on OK energy but 1) can never base anything on one team and 2) how do we k ow they did not have any significant losses to injuries, illness or exits for other reasons. There is no way to settle this except on the field. Several of the top 2011 teams will play each other in SCCL. For the other age groups we just have to wait to see if they play each other. Reality is that the teams change so much from year to year it is hard to say anything for sure. |

The only team (and I’m at that club) that I could be off is UFA. I know they added a TH girl and a Concorde Plat girl, so they should be better than TH maybe that AFU game is close, but still don’t think anyone comes near the Concorde Plat team. It’s easy to just say I’m wrong, but give me your thoughts on what the rankings should be. |
