The beginning of the end of males in female sports has started. Glad logic prevailed in the postmodern world where supposedly there is no absolute truth. As always the far left pushed too far and the average American doesn't agree and they got slapped back into place. The right gets slapped back as well when they reach too far.

If women/girls are too transphobic to want to play against the full array of women-identifying individuals, then they should just create their own league /s The problem isn't leagues it's that some states allow parents to change kids birth certificates to a different sex. Once this happens there's no way for a league to stop trans players from playing. Other than doing random "sex checks" like you'd do for PEDs.

Will there people that will be able to cheat? Of course. That doesn't mean that the rules to keep males out of female sports won't work. There are laws and rules people break and cheat all the time (like steroids). Honestly there will be a paper trail of any birth certificate changes and if not that there will be friends/family that will know what went down that would probably go public, and finally I'm sorry but no matter how much a person tries to be the other sex, we all know or suspect when a person is dressing like the other sex because no matter how much surgery, clothing, makeup you do 90%+ of the trans folks are still going to look like their biological sex. The very few that might be able to get away with it well they will get away with it, but I suggest that will be few and far between in any given situation due to all the reasons above, and for someone to get away with it on the HS Championship, Collegiate or Professional level will be 0 most likely because you get more scrutiny the higher the level you play.

Everything you said makes sense and I 100% agree with. The problem is leagues don't have the resources to play detective and weed out trans players. Also once a birthcert has been changed there's no paper trail for leagues to follow up on. Why do I know all this? It's because I'm aware of 2 GA teams with biological boys playing on girls teams. I even know of 1 GA club that advertised for trans players on their teams on instragram. Specifically calling out that they are "trans friendly".

The problem is trans players (m2f) tend to do really well against biological girls. This allows their teams to get into the finals. If teams forfeit against them in protest they still go to the finals. Once theyre in the finals if you forfeit in protest your team is out of the finals and the team with trans players wins. Eventually someone will play them because they want to win the league. When this happens enough trans players are normalized and biological girls get traumatized.

Ortho surgeon here. Don’t buy the broken leg story as legit issue here. People break their legs all of the time. I fixed a 6’5” 270+lbs goalkeeper whose leg was broken by a 5’8” 150lbs forward who slid into him. So this trans woman breaking someone else’s leg is BS. Could have happened to anyone. Whatever people think about the rest of the story, just know that the broken leg part is nonsensical.

It will be interesting (in a morbid sort of way I suppose) to see if the number and severity of injuries increase when biological men play biological women. Other than anecdotal, I’m not sure there is enough data out there right now (in soccer) to be statistically significant. I look at this as a neutral observer.

Sure, the situation you’re describing can & does happen occasionally, but you have to admit it’s much more likely for a larger person to injure a smaller person in a game, or any specific collision. That’s like saying you’ve seen plenty of people injured in wrecks that didn’t involve a drunk driver, so blaming drunk driving for bad wrecks is “nonsensical”.

I read “two GA clubs” on the GA soccer forum.. then I realize it meant Girls Academy not Georgia.
I don’t feel like I have standing to say anything in judgment. No personal experience other than knowing two families with trans kids (and my 19 year old knows a handful as well). I’m mostly sympathetic toward them. They’re not having an easy time at all. None of the ones I know are remotely close to leveraging their status to win a sport. I really wonder how this topic gains any momentum.. it mostly seems like grasping at straws.

We should probably go back and put an asterisk on all of Abby Wambach’s statistics and the World Cup wins she was a part of, right? I mean, she was listed at 5’11” and 180 lbs so it was totally unfair and frankly dangerous for her to compete on the field with the players around her. Your anger here is ridiculous. There are always going to be taller, heavier players in soccer/sports in general. The fact that then you doubled down by arguing with an actual ortho surgeon, aka a medical professional, just shows the lengths of ignorance you’re willing to go to.

Height and weight are one with thing, sure. But muscle-type make up and body density, not to mention the ability to move around at greater speed and force at that weight, play a huge difference in sport. I feel for people in this situation, I really do. And I think we need to work hard to find a solution. But allowing them to openly and freely participate in competition with natural born females is not the answer. It's ultimately not being inclusive.

But bones are actually weakest in torsion so twisting injuries are the most likely to cause a fracture and that can happen and does happen frequently due to other factors that the size of the opponent. Abby Wambach was sturdy for sure. And my example of the goalkeeper (who was a D1 offensive lineman BTW) was meant to be an example and kind of a funny one since there are not too many ppl that size playing soccer. I am aware of anecdotal evidence 🙄 and my nonsensical comment is due to the overall craziness that occurs when this topic comes up. No question injury rates will go up over time just as they did with American football but that is going to be due to the increased size and speed of all of the female athletes. In case no one has noticed we keep getting taller, bigger, faster and stronger.

Ironically my kid plays on a boys Futsal team and most of the players are 1-2 years older. Why would you complain about trans players and then have your player voluntarily play with boys? Or is your issue not with any of the "biological advantages" but rather something deeper? Not everyone thinks the way you do. 82% of trans individuals think about committing suicide, and 40% attempt suicide. This is a statistic that is often ignored when talking about trans kids in sports. The USWNT receives pushback for their "protect trans kids" initiatives, but this is what they are talking about. Sports saves lives, soccer saves lives. Soccer has always been more than just a game of winning or losing. Soccer builds communities and offers itself as a safe place for those who need it most. Stripping that from a child is unimaginable to me. If letting a trans child play with or against my daughter is what keeps another parent's child with them. If that's what brings even a moment of normalcy into their child's life, then there's not a second thought. Sure, some players or parents may take advantage of an inclusive system, but that's a risk I'm willing to take because there is an irreversible risk that accompanies exclusion. I don't know what your daughter went through playing against trans players, but I have a feeling that it is not comparable to the pain and suffering that trans people go through on a daily basis (yes, they exist outside of sports). I know I won't change your mind, but to any parents reading this who are on the fence about trans children playing, please remember: 99% of trans players, especially children, just want to play. They're not looking for trophies or places in the hall of fame, they just want to live. We should let them.

Yeah some women will obviously be more physically gifted than others. Whether that be shear size, athleticism, or both. But those women were all given the same basic lot in life as any other female. Natural born males generally have a couple of levels of physical and athletic ability that women just don't have. I'm all for inclusivity, and everyone deserve a chance to play somewhere. But for every natural born male that is allowed to participate, there is a natural born female that is left out in the cold. Not because she wasn't skilled enough, or didn't put in enough work as the women next to her. It's because biological differences allotted at birth were so different that there was never a chance to compete. That's not inclusivity. And that's just about all sport, not just soccer.

She's at the age were you see the differences in aggression and all that, but physically they're still all roughly the same. That'll change soon, but I'll continue to allow as long she can continue hang physically. She's pretty physically and athletically gifted, so that will probably last a while longer than the majority of her female teammates. I don't see why just because my daughter specifically is more equipped to handle that, does that mean I cannot have the opinion that natural born males playing with females is not a good idea. I totally agree with you that we need to find a safe, inclusive space for these people to play. We don't need to start pushing people out of their own spaces to do that though. You can love and care for someone without giving into their every whim. And my heart truly does go out to trans people, it's a tough lot in life. But there are just some things you cannot completely accommodate, and this is unfortunately one of them.

Clearly what's happening in a grass-roots Australian football club with an openly LGBTQ team is representative of what's happening on a widespread basis across the world. We need to act quickly before this gets out of hand.

There has been a huge uptick in testicular injuries in women's sports. Interestingly, no change in the rate of ovarian issues in men's sports.
Transgenderism should be treated as the mental illness it is. It's the new Goth, combined with weak (or bad) parenting, grooming at school and in the media, and is going to result in serious mental health and elevated self-harm rates for these kids in the future. It's really sad. There is a definite sub-set of parents that want the status symbol of a non-binary or trans kid. Crazy.
And yes, it's really rough being a kid, typically a middle schooler, grappling with sexuality. They need better support, not secret grooming. It's ok to be gay - you don't have to try and be another gender.

Confirming trans ideology is simply mental illness begging for appropriate treatment.

It's ok to be gay - you don't have to try and be another gender. I'm going to ignore the conspiracy theories that you casually tossed into your comment. More men play sports than women on a global scale so there will always be more trans women in sports than trans men. Also, leagues like the NWSL are more inclusive to trans athletes so trans men may decide to not receive testosterone treatments and continue to play in that league. For example, Quinn on the Canadian National Team and Seattle Reign FC. Any uptick in trans people is because younger generations have the tools to correctly identify themselves now. Per your other comment, trans people are not committing suicide simply because they are trans. They are committing suicide because parts of society deny their existence. For boys: If you are a feminine boy, you get treated horribly (Jared McCain and Caleb Williams are two examples in sports). If you transition to become a woman, you get treated horribly. There's no winning for those who want to exist peacefully outside of normal gender roles.

My daughter plays with and against boys, too. No one is being pushed out their spaces to "accommodate" trans athletes. I think we are grossly overestimating how many trans people exist, and how many of them want to play sports. I'm not saying that you can't hold the belief that trans athletes playing with cisgender athletes is not idea. I am saying that as a third party trying to understand your logic is difficult.

Only my first paragraph was sarcasm. The next two paragraphs are dead accurate. I'm sorry you're part of the reality distortion field. If someone is bi-polar, I don't deny their existence, I suggest they seek treatment. If someone is depressed, we suggest treatment. Should be the same with gender dysphoria.
